I'm glad you liked it. If you would like more of the historical context, Celestial and I have been doing a series of time wizard decks and duels starting at the beginning of the game.
For the first time, I placed at Locals! Using Battle city slugger with Gearfreed the lighting and a Chess Knight engine. It was awesome but I think the skull is to good and might get hit or errata (if Konami cares, they are possibly quiting speed duel)
Hopefully we get Speed Duel banlist because some of these cards at 3x are insane. Injection Fairy us susceptible to interruption no? That player will only get one shot to use its effect in a Speed Duel. Pulling the Strings raised my eyebrows once i sat down and read the card. Card is as evil as Yami Marik. I can see it being banned. Lastly, I noticed we got a Noah Skill w/Spirits (which i noticed there isnt a whole lot of cards in Speed Duel)Gorgoth the Relentless +Duke Devlin skill. Any chance of deck profiles on them (you ll need to go out box to find cards to build them tho)
Great video, you make excellent arguments. I don’t think we’re gonna get a final speed duel banlist. What are your thoughts on Sangan, Witch of the Black Forest, and Mystic Tomato all being at 3? I think it’s probably fine but either way 20 card decks maybe a little bit insane consistency. Also in my honest opinion, the speed duel format has been poorly balanced basically from day 1. I was playing back in 2019 when the very first starter decks were released and even at that very earliest stage Amazoness and gravekeeper were too good.
Those three cards will be fine, especially since witch and sangan have their errata. I will partially agree to the unbalance, even though this was always meant as a side format, Konami should have focused on more diversity in the card pool to eliminate overcentralizing the formats considering the whole card pool was reprints.
I agree with everything you said. These card choices are too much. I couldn't believe it when I saw Monster Reborn. Cards having a cost / restrictions are some of the things that make the game interesting, but that card doesn't have any drawback. I'm not sure about Pulling the Strings Marik Skill card, either. I saw a replay and a Marik player handed their opponent two Archfiends with low attack and the opponent's 3rd monster was unusable for a reason I can't remember (maybe it got flipped face down by quaking mirror force). Marik won 2-0. I can't think of a solid counter, except for maybe flooding the board with monsters as soon as possible, but cards that are good at dealing with flooded boards exist.
@@CasualDuelistNice lol. I also forgot to mention that Shell and Snipe Hunter will probably get hit as well. I saw a replay and See Me Rolling player cleared an entire board and otk both games with Snipe + Armed Dragon White. Introducing Snipe Hunter was a bad move.
