This is amazing. This made my day for them!
Love ya music
YO!! Papa Roach - Last Resort, Fountain of Wayne - Stacy's Mom, and Avril Lavigne- Sk8er Boi were like the "holy triumvirat of the early 00's middle school vibes for us Millennials.
No fucking way. It's the official Papa Roach channel commenting on a video!
I'm convinced that Lex doesn't hear words, just sounds. She be smiling through some of the darkest lyrics. Hahahaha
She's a badass. lol
Same here haha
That's why I'm here; I just like the vibe. I posted in another video and someone was asking me why. I don't know? She just enjoys the music. And that's ok too.
Have her listen to broken home and verify smile status.
Its weird because im a lyrics type, of course the cound is great here but you really need to hear the words...
This reaction perfectly shows the duality of music...
Lex is eyes-closed, jamming, and feeding on the music and rhythm...
Brad is reading the lyrics, looking a little shook, thinking "this dude was in a lot of pain, I hope he got the help he needed"
Papa Roach - Last Resort
Fountain of Wayne - Stacy's Mom
Avril Lavigne- Sk8er Boi
Were like the "holy triumvirat" of the early 00's middle school vibes for us Millennials.
Lyrics: ... and I'm contemplating suicide.
Lex: Yeah, I'm digging this.
😂😂😂
Between angels and insects is another banger by them
One of my favorite songs with a great message
Yes came here to comment this
Absolutely the best one 💯
Probably my favorite song by them
As a person with low self esteem and battling depression and suicidal thoughts this song always uplifts me reminding me that that I’m not alone
It's so funny when Lex catches a groove. She goes oopp and then she is jammin.
Great charisma. Her smile and groove are contagious.
She is just like my Granddaughter. I've been schooling her on real music since she was little. It was so much fun playing her the old records. She would hunt through my collection to pick out the ones she wanted to listen to. Good memories.
Every metal head wishes his girl would react the way Lex does when she catches on that groove..
@@bassacoustic1549 Man are you reading my mind.I was gonna say the same. No disrespect Brad. She does have a contagious and beautiful ❤️ smile and groove. You both rock it. Loving my new RUclips recommended reactionist. TY YT. Love NolifeShaq but you all kill it Everytime.
YO!! Papa Roach - Last Resort, Fountain of Wayne - Stacy's Mom, and Avril Lavigne- Sk8er Boi were like the "holy triumvirat of the early 00's middle school vibes for us Millennials.
This song was an instant classic from the time it first came out.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA. Get taste in music.
@@feldspar3858 it’s a decent song. It’s not necessary my shit either but it has a great groove and melody.
@@feldspar3858 making fun of someone’s taste in music? Are you a child? Gtfo
Where I am from we laughed at how corny it is.
@@feldspar3858 you can't judge a person's taste in music based off of an opinion of one song.
I like how these bands were able to sing about dark and sad stuff, without depressing you too much, because they made it aggressive or upbeat. Such as Korn, Slipknot, System of a down and such. Don't get me wrong, I was a big Nirvana fan in the 90ies, but it often was just depressing, because it didn't have that energy to just shake off your depression.
Grunge buried hair metal and new metal buried grunge.
@@user-yt6bm8of5e True. Not sure what buried New Metal, but I guess pop punk and emo.
@@wolfgangengel4835 Pop and rap dominated the radio waves after a certain point mid-2000's and it's continued on today. Rock and metal are basically dead on the radio.
@@thebenis3219 Pop and Rap always dominated since they came up. But what I noticed is, that metal (such as Nu Metal) disappeared from Music Television in the mid 2000s. Except from Linkin Park, maybe. (Which makes sense, cause LP were the most radiofriendly nu metal band, and already had some pop punk and emo vibes). While bands like My chemical romance, 30 seconds to mars, Panic at the disco and Fallout Boy went through the roof in the second half of the 2000's. So basicly emo and pop punk. And I hated those bands for killing Nu Metal to be honest. I went all the way from 80ies music, wave, punk, goth, metal, grunge, to nu metal in the early 2000's. But after that I started to lose interest. Metal, rock, punk, alternative never really competed with pop or rap.
I don't know how much SOAD did that.
Nu Metal! Hip hop, metal, punk mixture. Popular in the '90s, '00s.
Papa- IM CRYING!!!!
lex- just the biggest smile on her face.
LMAO, The look Brad gives Lex when she talks about "Bath Songs". It's like he was watching the last bit of sanity leave her body. LOL
She meant to say... Bloodbath. 😎😎🤣🤣
I had to pause to stop laughing and catch my breath
"BANGER!" She gets it, she couldn't stop banging her head. I love it.
Great song, another good one by Papa Roach is "Scars"
Between Angels and insects is great too
I met the singer a few years ago. One of the coolest dudes I've met.
so cool..i grew up listening to him
Saw them and 311 years ago. Great concert
@@ayearinthelifeofanxietyjoe4413 damn that's a long time ago, surprised you remember it
@@UnIucker just flashes lol. Walked in and got a contact high immediately. Both bands were great live.
I kind of forgot this song...now that I hear it again i realize it was an absolute banger!!!
I always remember the video because it showed teenagers and young adults who I could see that were just like me. It didn't matter what they looked like, you could see their homes, their rooms, and how they all shared this same angst and struggle while being unified with how they were when got to appear around the band while they were playing. It was both a vibe and at the same time really grounded in how many kids in that time felt.
P Roach is a massively underrated group who persisted far beyond the Nu Metal sound for which they were initially known. If you do a deep dive into their catalogue, you will unearth some absolute classics. They're about to release a new album, some of their best material in years. Love you guys, my bad I'm a huge fan of this particular group.
Man this song was the shit when it came out.
The vid makes it even better... how ever bad you are feeling..... the music makes it all ok for a few mins
I remember when I went to New York around that time that song was released.. still takes me back to that place .. ❤️
Still is. Very hard hitting song. Hope the dude’s in a better place these days... things can’t have been great here.
Lmao Lex cracked me up in this reaction. She was getting so into it.
This song is so real for so many people. People you would never guess.
"Blood Brothers", "Between Angels and Insects" & "Dead Cell" are also worth reacting to from the Infest album by Papa Roach.
Great choice!! "the paramour sessions" has bangers too.
i love Papa Roach
Tight rope
Basically the entire Infest album is worth listening to.
Other good Papa Roach songs from the same era are "Scars" and "Getting Away with Murder." That one will get you pumped. The newer stuff is great, too, like "Fall Apart," "Face Everything And Rise," "Leader of the Broken Heart," "Gravity," and "Still Swinging." Other great ones are "Forever," "She Loves Me Not," and the collaboration he did with the Hu Band for a translated version of "Wolf Totem."
I love how she is just vibing and he's searching for the deeper meaning... great combination of listening styles between the two of you.
This band is even better live. Saw them at K-rockathon many years ago and they stopped playing at one point when a male cheerleader team threw a guy about 10 ft in the air, they thought it was so cool and said they weren't playing another bar till they did it again, the team threw the guy 15 ft into the air and the energy papa roach had playing went up even higher after, it went off and was crazy awesome.
the whole album is incredible, one of the most kickass debut albums of all time
So glad to see you two doing reactions to songs from this band now. Papa Roach has plenty of great songs but I have waiting to see how Lex responds to hearing Born For Greatness for her first time. That song never fails to get me hyped up.
Papa Roach took this riff from Iron Maiden's "Hallowed be thy name"... I saw them open for Iron Maiden in 2012 😁
Having seen Papa Roach a few times in concert, they r an awesome, fun band to see live 🔥🔥🤘🤘A mix of punk rock and hip hop grooves... this song came out in 2000, and Papa Roach are still consistently touring and making the charts w/ new music. Check out the recent songs - "Periscope" (feat. Skylar Grey) ... "Crooked teeth" ... "Break the fall" ... 'Help'... Other Papa Roach bangers: 'Getting away with murder' ... 'Lifeline' ... 'She loves me not' ... 'Scars' ... 'To be loved' ... 'Between angels and insects'
Papa Roach is - Jacoby Shaddix (lead vocals), Tobin Esperance (bass), Jerry Horton (guitar), Tony Palermo (drums)... {Dave Buckner was the original drummer until 2008 (?) }
It's not the only riff they ripped off from Maiden
There's a video on youtube that shows they developed the riff on a piano.
I remember when I heard Maiden and I was like “ 😂 what the hell is going on here ?” Never realized they took some of the riffs .. but I love Maiden and Papa Roach ❤️ so I think it’s fucken awesome
They sucked.
@@reneechavarria4554 The riff for this song is more similar to Infinite Dreams than Hallowed be Thy Name imo.
So cool to see people reacting to this Rock club banger from back in the day, for the first time! Reminds me how good an album infest was, hell, still is!!!
I was friends with these guys in high school. This song was written after another mutual friend had a bit of a psychotic break and attempted the old self deletion. He survived, but got super religious after that and removed himself from our social circle.
In this episode of Brad & Lex, Jacoby Shaddix's voice begins the intro before the unique acension and descending guitar riffs get Lex ready for her "rocker bop" with brief air drums as Brad executes a calm, collected "side to side sway" before a quick bath debate with Lex.
😂
You always have the best comment, lol.
I must admit, I’m starting to scroll for the Smitty comment. Lol
More Papa Roach please! One of my all time favorite bands!
What Lex said, right at the end there. "The sound of words is different than the meaning of words". All metalheads: TRUEEE
I think most people that enjoy this music are pretty good at separating the two.
But if it's a similar situation you can relate to, and it helps you cope. All the better.
I stood behind these guys in a supermarket in Holland the day of a concert they were playing in Eindhoven.. thats my whole story.
😂😂🤯
😂😂🤯
Ah the good old days of Nu Metal...I miss it lol. This is a band that improved a lot in their subsequent albums...but this is Classic.
Bath Playlist......🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Brad's Face is gold.....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
one of my fav songs and bands of all time , love it guys & Lex rockin tf out them overalls
You've probably heard this song on WWE or sporting events lol. Nu Metal is popular and has been for awhile. SOAD, Korn, Drowning Pool, Limp Bizkit, RATM, SlipKnot, Incubus, etc Some of Deftones music. Linkin Park, etc A whole bunch of them. Some of Cypress Hill (rap and nu metal)
Pain Is always so powerful In a song !
You guys should react to…
3 Doors Down - Kryptonite
🎸🤘
That was a crazy popular song back in the day
I love this song still so much always loved it
Man this song hits so different as an adult. People make sure you talk about the things going on in your head.
"Cut my steak in to pieces, this is my plastic fork..."
This is one of those songs that has a deep, powerful message, but kinda gets lost in the upbeat sound. Prime example is 0:50 where he talks about suicide but Lex gets a smile on her face. Throws you off a bit. Great song, and powerful message.
This one on my truck play list to great band they have many songs I like !
They are amazing live. Lead singer Jacoby Shaddix is an amazing front man. Really reacts with the audience
My Dad's ringtone for the last 20 years, took so long for us to enjoy the same music.
Watching your faces: classic example of Brad being (rightly so) semi-disturbed by the lyrics and Lex just loving the energy of the music. :D
LMAO at this one on your bath playlist, wtf...
4:49 I died laughing when Lex said "Bath playlist" Its funny bc she was kinda serious but also people have been known to cut themselves in baths trying to commit suicide. I love Lex!
Bath playlist. What the hell 😂😂😂 they'll be water all over the floor from moshing in the bath haha
Lex is the reason I watch these haha don't change
"that's like my bath playlist".... the look on brad's face lmfao
Drowning Pool and Papa Roach were so awesome when I was in middle school
Its so clear that Brad read the lyrics and understood them so he was like serious and lex is smiling when s guy sings about killing himself ... damn ^^
My teenage years right here!
I knew you'd love it, Lex! :) I highly recommend their song Scars (and the official video to get the full experience). Love me some Papa Roach!
"Where rap and metal collide"... Exactly!
The first of 3 decades of hits. Get into them. There music evolved with there age. Rock and Roll!!!
Looks like Lex has caught the groove and Brad is looking at the lyrics like, OMG, this guy needs help!
Papa roach she love’s me not is another great one that was their first single and often overlooked
Loved this song since 8th grade in 99?when it first came out in the underground
Between Insects and Angels is their best song imo
Brad had to put his foot down at the wine. " Bath? Ok. Listening to.... This? I guess. Kicking back drinking wine? Absolutely not, that's too far you sociopath"
I'm in love with this girl and her energy haha
This is one of my favourite songs.
Papa Roach are awesome.
This song has a special place in the "the one" album, starring jet, Li
This came out when I was in junior high; incredibly popular with the kids in class who played with knives and talked about Columbine a lot. Also there is a riff in this song almost identical to a riff in Hallowed Be Thy Name (Iron Maiden).
"The sound of words is different than the meaning of words". Lex quote of the year........
You NEED to see them live in order to feel the energy that they put out
hahahaha Another Group that my Son's got me hooked on!! Great Stuff!! 🎸😁💯👍❤️
Cool reaction! More Papa Roach please!
You should check out their song "Broken Home"
I love Papa Roach. Been blasting that song since it came out.
"Gotta get into the grime! Y'know what i'm saying? Soak it up!" lmao i love Lex 😂💜
Yes a Banger!!! Between Angels And Insects is my Favorite Papa Roach Tune. 😁❤🤘
Pappa Roach home town Vacaville, CA.
Would love to see another Queens of the Stone Age reaction. They're one of my favorite bands! Check out Mexicola or Better Living Through Chemistry, cool riffs and great vocals.
“To be loved” is a banger !
Wow I haven't thought of this song in years. Thanks for reminding me what a banger it is! Added it to my playlist again lol
it surprises me how people havent heard this one yet haha
every single one of my friends, not knowing paparoach, somehow still know this song
I always thought from the video, that this song wasn't so much about him being in pain, but letting his fans know that he SEES them, and knows some are in pain and he understands and is there for them.
Ironically this song and bodies are on the same playlist for a movie called The One. Hahaha
So weird watching this. Ditched a college class to take part in this music video 20 years ago lol
You definitely need to go down the Papa Roach rabbit hole. They've been around over 20 years and still going strong
would love to see you guys get into some Mudvayne
i forgot this song exists. i loved it back in the day
spent last few hours here on the channel. Great music great reactions from both. I'm gonna subscribe ring that bell and watch some more
Cut my pizza into slices, where is my plastic fork?
Freshman year of high school and this song was everywhere
You may feel like you have heard it before as its kinda an Iron Maiden riff so sounds familiar .
Thanks for checking out this band they make hits such as scars, obsession, dead cell. Usually I would listen to this song followed by the drowning pools bodies, then Korn Falling away from me, followed by Killswitch Engaged End of Heartache, Mudvayne Not falling, Static X the only. You guys are in for a trip enjoy the music because we enjoy your reactions 👏👏👏👏
"I wanna die"
Lex: this is so nice
Love papa roach. My favorite is getting away with murder. They have so many great songs. A great slower song by them is scars. It is my second favorite song by them
Papa Roach is my wife’s favorite band. Seeing their show for the 3rd time in March. Many good songs. But don’t forget Tallah- Vanilla Paste
Great song my favorite by them is Scars… they have so many good songs…
I love she got it. Forever.
This track and the album it came off of helped me survive school. Dark times for real
Loved both of your reactions 😂😂🔥
I really enjoy these guys and their open mind to new genres of music and what they think it all means. I would love for them to listen to some Poppy. Start with I'm poppy and lowlife then go into like X and Concrete.
My first initial reaction is Holy Athletics and Brad are listening to Papa Roach Last Resort yeah the lead singer is very retrospective from back in the day always look forward to more reactions musically app pace
I can tell Brad is disturbed by the lyrics…… I am too, but I’m with Lex on enjoying it……just not a hot bath with a razor😆❤️
