    I can't type old or new password
    I am unable to understand this problem

    what is the syntax to know the old password or any syntax if we forgot our old password and want to change without telling the old password

      Don't know if it's the best way but if you chroot into the system you can change the user password without having to type it

    The ls command does not give any output why ???kindly help to solve this issue

      Means there is no files. If you want to see all the files including hidden files then use "ls -a" command (a stands for all). It'll show all files including the files whose name starts with dot
