That smirk and chuckle at about 5:40 with the snap ring pliers. No one loves a snap ring but I can tell that you just love working on bikes. Good job sculptor Mike!
Linda is one lucky (and gutsy) gal. The color of the paint on her Sporty reminds me of the finish on my last bike -- my trusty Pan/Shovel. That poor bear. Thanks again, Mike.
Mike, great presentation. Maintenance is everything. I don't own a Sportster, but I have the privilege of owning a '60 fl, and always enjoy newer, current information on the later models. Thanks for the latest.

I was one of those. The only difference is I had a new Shovelhead. I road from SoCal, all over the state, and Nevada and Oregon and Washington and Vancouver British Columbia. The whole time, I had my service manual with me. Great trip.
Black fingernail polish works good on scuffed up black parts. Cheap and comes with its own brush. A close friend hit a moose on his Evo bagger 20 yrs ago, neither survived. He was a great guy and still missed by many. ✌️🇨🇦
@@pacificmike9501 Thanks Mike. He knew as we all know that every time we throw a leg over a bike there is a chance it could go south. If we love to ride the risk is worth it.
Some mothers mag wheel polish and buffing wheel on a drill will shine the lever up. And a black sharpie to black out the scuff will work fine. We do what we got to do to ride.
Glad your friend Linda faired better than the poor bear. She is lucky to be alive and the bike doesn't look to bad. I know you will perform your magic on it. I never hit a bear, but did hit a kid on a bicycle who ran a stop sign. The little sh*t wasn't hurt, thank God.

Mike, did Linda also dent the tank dropping the bike after hitting the bear? You going to try and knock that out as well? Or, is that a new tank needed?
Is that a guardian bell under the head light? My understanding of the myth/legend/story was it is ment to be at the lowest point of the bike to drop the gremlins on the ground when stopped...
Mike, I need your advice. I have a 1956 PanHead. The rear cylinder exhaust rocker fulcrum broke on the pushrod end! Who makes the best replacement part to fix this situation?????
Regardless of who you buy them from, they probably come from the same place unless you can find someone who has new old stock. I've not had problems with the aftermarket Panhead rockers out there, but I did have to spend a little time fitting them. Pretty rare happening you've got there. Did you figure out why it broke (probably "overstressed")?
I don't know that they are the same but I have a set of levers off a 2016 Dyna street bob I'd be willing to donate just don't know where to send them too if she wants new levers. They are stock levers and show they have been in the weather but they don't look bad. One might have a few marks in it from when the bike fell off the kickstand but I've never noticed
That's a tough question. Is it being serviced? That means lubed. Are all the related parts maintained with lubrication and proper adjustment? Is everything of good quality? Is it being ridden by an adult?
@@pacificmike9501 Hello Pacific Mike. I Appreciate the response to my question. I do value your knowledge with videos and appreciate your style of taking your time that let's the information you present sink in for a better understanding.
If you file that ball on the end down with the file and then some fine sandpaper, you can get it looking pretty good. I know, thanks to some 'you know what' that ran the red light in front of me, and had to lay it down to avoid T-boning him.
They make new rubbers for her shifter peg. Or buy an aftermarket knock off and use those rubbers. I use superglue on mine, so they don't slip back off. See you out on the road! 😎

I never could figure out deer? If a hunter ,a wolf, Coyote, or even a darn T-Rex get anywhere near they run for the hills. But drive a car or bike near them they run straight towards the threat, go figure 🤔
Being pretty does not make them bright. I believe they are confused. I've been lucky enough to stop and wait until they're gone. The best thing to do is realize when they're out and don't be there. Where I used to live, they all went for water at 5:30 P.M. in the summertime. Go around a curve and there'd be twenty of them going out for a drink.
I was driving down the road in the trash truck at work a few months ago. I heard a loud bang, thought I had hit an overhead tree brach. Then I looked in the mirror. Nothing but a cloud of fur! Darn thing ran straight into the side of the truck. So yeah, " cause and effect " certainly isn't their strong point.

Well said. Proper lubrication does wonders.

Don't tell her.
The dent in the tank might be fixed by using a technique using a bicycle pump and a handmade tool as explained by Red Rider on her channel
Cool. I'll have a look at it.
I always use 20W50 in cables, may take a few days untill its to the bottom, works perfect and your cables will last almost a life time
