The Earth, and almost everything on it is part of one giant living organism. Humans are a virus numbering almost 8 Billion that don’t follow natural laws and are slowly killing the the giant living organism that we call Earth. There, fixed it.
this is truely eye opening. Instead of constantly hearing the "complaints" of us human destroying planet earth, now seeing how the planet would look like and how the ecosystem would work when we wouldn't interfere the circle of life. Absolutely amazing, 13 minutes is way to short but it opened my eyes that we are on one hell of a mission.
"...when we wouldn't interfere the circle of life..." Virtually no part of land on this globe has not been interfered with in order to suit us humans. With no signs of this trend slowing down, let alone stopping. We love to protect whales and polar bears but eat birds and animals raised and slaughtered in the most cruel fashion. We are an avaricious species that fawns over itself with flowery self praise for our noble regard for nature. If it is any comfort, our species will become extinct the way all others do. And rthe planet will continue to spin, the rain will continue to fall.
I needed this. I live on Maui where it's getting rarer and rarer to see living coral, sharks, Mantas etc..... encouraging to know it doesn't have to take decades to bring our ecosystems back to par. Mahalo.
Amazing bit of film - reminds me of Diego Garcia, a coral atoll in the Indian Ocean which I was lucky enough to visit some years back. What hits you is just how incredibly vibrant and diverse nature can be when its not impacted by man.
Thanks, JJF and friends - Watching you grow up at Pipe and seeing you now as a young man, I am grateful to you, your Mom, family, friends, and community for helping you become such a great human being - Watching you sail, surf, and inspires me to be my best and realize all that I can dream. Aloha - from deep city life in NYC.
The reef diving footage on Palmyra was totally unreal. The land based flora and fauna was incredible as well. Probably the best I have ever seen on YT. What a treat you all got to experience. Amazing.
Brought tears to my eyes. So moving. Our Earth is paradise lost. I wonder if enough people will ever understand what we are doing before it's too late. Thank you for your efforts to spread the word. My hat off to Erik, he is truly a gifted artist
Thank you for the beautiful 50th birthday gift to Earth Day and how you young men are showing the world how to care about and for our Mother Earth. Your Mom’s heart must just burst watching you become such amazing men. As an auntie, I know mine does

Surely all of the people who DID not fly to Hawaii are even more amazing. Because they did less environmental damage. If not, why not?
Amazing job, beautiful footage. I look forward to having my environmental and marine science students watch this and listen to the observations and connections that you all made and shared. Thanks!!
I haven't even watched episode 4 yet. but i have to say thank you for such a high quality series (and on youtube!). from the cinematography to the music to the adventure to the education and more. truly wonderful
I’ve been waiting for this and saved watching it until a hush descended on my house. Absolutely fascinating! Also incredibly humbling and sad to learn the nature can naturally thrive and survive by just being and not even trying. I wonder how earth would look without humans? I feel like somehow we’re missing the point...
Absolutely insane!!! The underwater shots seriously blew me away. Also shoutout to the editor, the titles are a great touch and I love the effect for the VELA titles!
I'm here because of flight sim. I found myself without fuel in the middle of the ocean and needed a place to land. Thank you for sharing this content to give me, and others a better idea of this little island in the middle of no where
I absolutely loved this. This is the true example of the saying 'Energy flows where attention goes'. Lets focus on the positives. This video needs to be shared! You guys are so lucky to be able to travel #Goals. I have just started my own youtube channel of our travels around South Africa. I have made amateur filming mistakes but hey, no ones first videos are perfect.
Had an accident and I’m learning to walk again. I was hesitant about watching your videos as possibly get upset how I can’t do those things ,YET! But nope, not one bit. I want to go to this Island. What a great group of people they are there. From what it was before, to now just amazing. I’ve stopped your video before the end and am hoping you will give an address /details of the Scientists As I’m hoping I can donate or help in any way I can. Love your videos. Thank you for keeping me company whilst recuperating xxxx
Thanks so much for this episode, gives me a tiny glimmer of hope for the future of reefs and ecosystems. What magnificent creatures this planet has, I hope people will change their selfish ways.
just amazing, not enough adjectives to describe the beauty & wonder....Heaven on earth....so cool.....like Dr. Suess goes to the South Pacific....you boys are so lucky....top notch photography, thanks for sharing....Peace
If every body, especially the young, could be so inspired by this film, and you boys....so proud of loving our earth and even more to know you guys are sharing what you experienced!!! Mahalo nut loa
Awesome rapidly documentary to let us know how fast the nature can recover if we let it to do so! In times which all world are in some way of quarantine we can corroborate this through the lower level of pollution in the air! Congrats for the series you guys made!
Very informative and eye opening. Kudos to the people that makes it possible for nature to recovery and conservation. Respect to you guys for bringing this in.. Definitely amazing!
Wow, stunning. I live in Fiji and it does not look like that around here. Gonna see what I’ve got to do to get the wheels moving on some reef restoration, this was good motivation, thanks!
Cool. Poets and Scholars will pen the words to inspire all whom will listen, the many journeys to for our future. Words that have utterly been unspoken as of yet. Thanks guys for allowing us on your visit to Palmyra.
This edit is really well done. Also, it's a refreshing positive message instead of never ending doom and gloom from the environmental community. Inspiring!
Epic!! What has and is being done is fixable. The best series of vlogs I've seen!! Mahalo for this, and I truly believe through doc's like this and education. We can save this amazing place. LINKS
Super inspiring. This video makes me think we as surfers should begin to be a bit more vocal against the pollution larger cargo ships are releasing into our oceans, as well as what our surfboard & clothing manufacturing is doing to the environment.
Gorgeous footage guys. Thanks for sharing such a rare and beautiful place. “Hey what’s that over there?” “It’s a sail drone, says keep clear” PHOTO OP!! Hilarious
3:24 "until we can love ourselves we'll have a really hard time taking care of anyone or anything else, and that's been a powerful lesson from nature for me. Spending time in nature is where I really got to know myself, my limits and also what I am capable of. When I see a system that's in balance like this [...] that is just amazing, but we are not gonna see that everywhere until we can kind of come to grips with who we are".
I’ve scuba dived in remote areas of the Fijian Islands, but I’ve never seen so many fish, under sea wildlife, and such healthy reefs as what I saw of Palmyra in this movie.
You know why it’s SO healthy....NO people!!!! We’re beyond toxic. Imagine just Oahu alone has 10 million tourists with crappy sunscreens going in our sacred waters in just 1 year. 😞
The power of nature. Wonderful message ( aside the footage). If we integrate, we get abundance. If we separate ourselves from nature, we just blow this planet. We have to relearn how to live. And fast.
@johnjohnflorence We were looking forward to watch the last 2 episodes of Vela thanks for the upload dude. Great content! You certainly have a future in filmmaking. Regards from Cork
Us humans position on earth is unique, we are a part of the process to help the ecosystem prosper yet so many of us don’t understand or know what that truly looks like, many of us don’t know how to come together for a bigger purpose here on earth.
I'm 62 yrs old. When I grow up I want to be just like JJF

The earth, and everything on it is part of one giant living organism. We are all one.
Exactly... One flat organism!
@@sam_s_ U joking or serious?

Damn, John, you and your team just keep producing these epic masterpieces and raising the bar.

Keep it up John. The hard work isn’t going unnoticed 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I love that the connection between our self-view (self love) and ecosystem balance is clearly identified.

This series should have been a full fledge documentary. Absolutely stunning!

Blessed to live in this little blue marble. We need to protect our oceans and find sustainable ways to live in harmony with nature our we will perish.
@johnjohnflorence We were looking forward to watch the last 2 episodes of Vela thanks for the upload dude. Great content! You certainly have a future in filmmaking. Regards from Cork
My heart just exploded
Awesome content. Loving this series.
Those waves looked unreal on Palmyra outer reef. I'm sure surfing is not allowed on that island, but man Nathan had to be frothing seeing those.
Cherreh job John great documentation mahalo nuis 🤙🏽😁🍒 Mother Nature is always a great sight to see
Heck yeah, great series and message.
Us humans position on earth is unique, we are a part of the process to help the ecosystem prosper yet so many of us don’t understand or know what that truly looks like, many of us don’t know how to come together for a bigger purpose here on earth.
The subtitles converted the crab shot sound to (applause). Crabs walking does sound like...mind blown
haha
