Great video for a super nice module. We just need a mixer "component" (eq/mute/send-return) not just vca and this will even be a killer eurorack module
One thing I'd love to know is the difference between the pedal Beebo and Hector, or pros and cons. Naturally, I understand that Hector has CV and Gates, whereas Beebo is a foot pedal with in/outs for signal, which is maybe more useful for creating whole atmospheres. However, I'm curious to understand why Loki (?) built two versions of the same thing with the same software, yet (as an example) limits the way each system works - clearly the pedal can't output Marbles (only be used internally). The Hector can take guitar (or other sound sources), so why not have a few CV/Gate jacks like the Deluge on the Beebo, which would make more sense - IMHO. Great videos as usual, and, I have to say, I'm wondering whether to trade in my Beebo for a Hector 🤔.
Hi Robert another intriguing exploration although I can not afford Hector it is value for money, alas Emily has called time and the ending of MI, wonder what her workforce will be moving onto, this module covers some of her greatest modules so Excellent but big outlay investment Hector Love all your output, on to next instalment 👍🆒🎶🔱🕸🇬🇧⚡️🌟🌟🌟🆒
Comparing the cost of the real modules with Hector (I own a LOT of mutable gear) almost hurts. But it's good that Emilie's work will never be forgotten - and it's more easy to access.
aw man .. thanks again for this 2nd part. I think alot of softwares have "ceilings" to their computing abilities, which obviously has to be respected. I've got a Beads & Rings, .. with quite some curiosity about everything else of Muteable Instruments, ect .. so, here this is .. This thing looks quite intimidating though, .. "The only limit is your imagination!" .. I think that's said to make me feel good? .. It doesn't. .. :)
Totally agree, but I had stuff running at 100% without any problems (except when moving sliders while playing). Indeed it should have had an iPad chip...
@@mntbighker to be Honest you can run a fait amount of modules. Thé problem is, as the interface is excellent, you quickly want to build a complète mega system in thé box which is not thé purpose of this module i think
Hey, thanks for these two episodes. I had already decided to get a Hector, and you have done nothing to deter me. I am really intrigued by impulse response reverbs, and I have TONS of IR files that I would love to try with Hector. Do you remember how much CPU a single instance of the IR reverb used? Does it depend on the IR loaded? Thanks for all your videos. I subscribed recently and am working my way through them.
I think Hector is more intuitive and easier to 'patch' than the Zoia, and has a wider area of application. I recently got the Zoia but I still need to figure it out while I already made two Hector videos so this is all based on personal experience. This does not mean Hector is better, I think they belong together in the same travel case or live rig. Zoia just needs more time, but wow what a machine...
@@richieAnimation Hope they will do a sample player (with save function / pitch & reverse). Until then you can use the looper but no way to save the sound directly
I think I have to agree here. The small icons on Mutable modules are just too small for my old eyes to read so at some point I always need a manual and memorize the UI.

Digging my Hector too.

@@CinematicLaboratory tables have turned now, lol. The original rings can be found for 400-500 bucks, for that price I'd rather get this :D

Hector module is a beast I just wished it has more CPU power to run even more modules in it

That would be the deal breaker for me if it was on my GAS list. ;-)

Hi Robert I now i'm late to this party but is there reason why Hectors not on the Grainmakers Playlist?
Hector's granular engine is Mutable Clouds.
@@CinematicLaboratory Ah yes of course... but is it got clone. thinking about getting or 1010 music micro, can only have one. :)

cool thanks for these not much videos out for the hector esp when compared to the zoia
i read a sample player is in the works too!

Screens have their purpose. Having to rely on led colors and knob positions to represent modes creates usability and accessibility concerns.
