@@GuineaPiggles just after I watched this video I found some sow thistle in my garden! I let them have a little taster with their dinner and they went wild for it!
I've seen that the stems and leaves of blackberries, raspberries and roses are edible for guinea pigs. I've always been wary though due to the thorns. I'm sure piggies can cope with them but I wouldn't want mine to scratch their throats. The obvious omission is dandelions, they're just free salad! Cow parsley, yarrow, golden rod and nettles are good forage too - drying them removes the sting.
Thanks Monique. What beautiful walk there. Mine enjoy hazel leaves and apple leaves and twigs to gnaw on in the summer. What bedding are you using nowadays? It looks interesting-like cardboard chips? x ps I like your hair shorter- it’s about the same length as mine now 😉x
Hi Jemma, thank you :) It's really lovely around here. Ours also enjoy apple and hazel leaves and twigs. We can get those around where we live too but not on the walk I did on this video. It's shredded cardboard which was recommended to us by the rescue centre where we adopted our guinea pigs. We were using kiln dried pine shavings but when we adopted Winnie, we changed as he has very thick curly hair and the shavings might have got a bit stuck in his hair. It works really well for us and they seem to like it too.
Thanks for the information. Sadly at this time of year where I live it's not so sunny but when it's summer here I will look into foraging as I have seen many of these plants before.
You're very welcome. Guinea pigs can't eat morning glories but there's loads of other things they can eat. Check out our other forage videos for loads more ideas. Here's the first one we did ruclips.net/video/veme32Ii1-0/видео.html

Great video Monique! My piggies absolutely love the broad leaf plantain :)❤️
Thanks Brooke! Ours love it too but they love the sow thistle even more! :)

You're absolutely right, there is certainly lots more available than I showed in this video. I just showed what I found on one walk in August :)
Rose petals are enjoyed by some of my piggies and they’re very soft for them to eat! 😊

At least you'll be prepared for when the sunny weather comes around :)
Yes!
Question if I may, aren't you worried about worming due to being outside or the insects on the leaves?
Thanks for the great info! Question, What about morning glories? Can Guinea Pigs eat the leaves? Fom Ohio, USA
