Your closing statement... "All we can do in moments of darkness is to keep on shining" so good. Sorry for the struggle, they are real and everyone can empathize in someway, it is these struggles that make us stronger so that we can keep on shining. good luck you guys.
OH MY WORD!!!!! I can't believe it! Watching the rain fall BROKE MY HEART! THEN HE SPOKE LIGHT…… IN MOMENTS OF DARKNESS … IS TO KEEP ON SHINING!!!! THAT WAS HOPE FOR ME. Tomorrow will be a better day for you both. KEEP THE FAITH. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You two always come out on top and one of the most important assets you both have is your patience and acceptance with whatever happens knowing you will move on and resolves all the issues with which you are presented. KUDOS for being excellent examples of behaviour for Belle and Maverick.
That i'm sure was a heart breaker for you, I know it was from here in the cheap seats. It was looking great and know it still will. Looking forward to your next video.
Awe Good Grief! Sorry to see you guys having trouble! Hopefully it's an easy fix. By the way Doug, The paint goes on the house, NOT in your pocket! LOL I know, Not what ya had in mind! Place is still looking great!
In moments of darkness keep on shining. A great philosophy to live by. I know you 2 took the rain in stride and pressed through the adversity. Adversity tests our will and makes us stronger I have faith in your family's resolve
Oh no!!😢😢 I'm so sorry...all your hard work looks so amazing then the rain came. I do hope it stopped in time and didn't leave too much of a mess. What we can see looks amazing!❤👍🏾👍🏾 Love your attitude..keep moving forward even when it seems impossible. 😊
Sometimes I have such a hard time watching these... all that hard work!!!! And I wanted to shout through the screen to tell you the red is lost, but you could save the white by hosing down the bottom until the rain stops, or the red is all dripped off. Then again, it may have looked rather interesting to leave the drips in place. Now to wait for the next video..... *sigh*
WOW! Not the rain. It looked like a scene out of the movie Carrie when the red paint started to run down off the walls. Nice ⭐ on the back of your neck Ashley, first time I noticed you had a tattoo.
Oh no! I’m praying you were able to salvage it without a huge loss. You did a great job spraying the white on. I’m on the edge of my seat now wondering what’s happened. You’re both smart, young and hardworking! I know You’ll make the best of it! I know you will not let it stop you! Blessings...
Ah sheez! How annoying is that?! Good job wiping the dribbles. Prior to that though, the white looked so crisp it made the whole plot look more appealing. You’re so good at not getting really sweary or crying, I hate it when things are undone in the middle of me doing them. Fingers, toes and eyes crossed for better weather for the second coat. :)
That's a bummer! Hopefully it won't be all that bad when the dust settles. Life happens. I know you will do whatever needs to be done. The force is strong in these two!
When you repaint the red paint, can you tape up a sheet of cheap plastic under the lip below the red to prevent dripping onto the white in the event of another rain?
I hate doing things over or having to fix stuff after so much work! But been there and done that. I hope and pray that’s it’s not toooooo bad of a fix! I feel so bad for you two! Hang in there! 👍🙏👍🙏
Hi guys, just got back from a week away in the country myself and just binge watched all your videos, great work on the barn door, looks like it was a real headache but as usual you persisted with team work and got it done. Sorry about the paint job, how frustrating after all the work you put in, i hope you were able to rectify without too much bother, look forward to your next video to see what happened.
Our family loves your channel! We read about you selling and finding a quieter place. Good for you! Since we're new, we didn't know if you're going to live in the mobile home, or is it on the property to be sold!
Thank you! The mobile home is where we currently live, where it is loud. Just getting the final touches done on it and then we can get it listed. Should be soon :)
Wow guys I could cry for you🌩😭😢Hopefully you got the red streaks in time and just have to paint the red again! It will be a better tomarrow 😊It looks fantastic like I knew it would with the red👍
my husband and I have the same kind of luck..we kinda just expect it now. I am sure it will turn out great. You guys are hard workers and you always keep going no matter what the odds!
hang in there guys, minor set back!! I do this stuff all the time and it happens alot with the bi polar weather we have here in Massachusetts..on your next best day,get out there and just paint over the worst ruined parts,, you have a solid white base coat already atleast from the top dwn to the red,,just give the red another qick coat, and knock off the bottom white after the red, let it dry and your good!! sorry abpout the bad luck guys, youll get thru this-Ray
OH NO !!!!! I hope the paint comes out ok. Doug's clothes reminds me of last fall, I was painting my storage shed. I had just opened a new gallon of paint, painted and needed to move the ladder. For some reason I walked around the ladder, I stepped on a piece of pipe, my feet shot out from under me and I fell backwards into the ladder and dumped about a half gallon of paint on me. I had paint all over my face and glasses and luckily didn't get any in my eyes. I just took off my clothes in the garage and threw them in the trash. So I learned my lesson that time. Ha Ha !!!
Should have just rejected delivery of the rain and told those clouds to reroute over to Bobblehead homestead :) But seriously, I am sorry to see the weather put a kink in your plans. Weather is one of those few events that affects all of us, no matter whether you're a pauper or a king. I really do hope it was only a brief shower and you were able to wipe most of the red drips off the white so it didn't get too spoiled. You're a good team and will recover from this setback I'm sure.
Love the ending statement. Speaks volumes on your character. Great job guys, good for you for tackling a job most folk wouldn't even consider attempting. Great character. Thanks for the video.
You guys have a great attitude. I watched two neighbors paint their houses on rain days, it seems to be the thing to do.....I don't understand it...one of them just like you guys, was getting their house ready to sell. Hope it doesn't cause a sanding party to get the runs fixed. Hope things go better!
Was going to suggest maybe advertising those old windows on Craigslist and see what happens. I would imagine those exact windows are extreamly hard to get nowadays. Working or not, Someone who needs one will be happy to find them!
Oh boy. I had my mobile home painted by a so-called professional. I asked them to hold off due to the rainy weather, but they said it wouldn't matter. So, it rained before they painted and after. It was done in one color. When I went out to look at it, the paint was drooling down the side of the house. Not just drips, but great globs of paint as if it was peeling. I called and told them there was a problem. They had to come back and strip the old paint and completely re-do it. I feel your pain.
Think they call that Murphy’s law! Don’t give up! You don’t win if you give in! There is always more paint! It’s just a bummer to redo it! Praying things will work out better !
Oh man! That stinks. UGH. All that hard work just to watch it get washed away. But I love what Doug said at the end, “in moments of darkness all you can do is keep on shining. I love that! I’m going to steal that, and use it with my kids and in life. What a great attitude. OK, now to go watch the next one.
That's the year it started raining here in NY around the 22nd, and rained pretty much everyday until a major snowstorm hit in mid October. Bugs, dust and rain. A painters' worst nightmare!
*that's all we can do during moments of darkness.....SHINE* My Daddy used to say, A coat of paint covers a multitude of sins....indeed. Too bad for the rain though. I'm in Cali. We could use a quickie.
Looking at your red hands made me laugh. Reminded me of syrup. No matter how hard you try, it always ends up all over the bottle. 😂😂. I love the colors btw. Amazing job you guys!!
Fortunately, I have seen the finished work (watching the videos out of order is cheating, I know) so I know you saved it but that must have been so disheartening at this point. All that work looking like it was being ruined, oh my. By the way, I love the red, it makes it really pop! Much better than the orange. Of course, red is one of my favorite colors.
Preparation including power washing, sanding rough or rusty areas, filler for holes, primer, correct paint, and taping, will insure a nice finishing result.
for us novices, probably good to talk through all the steps. Washing exterior before painting, taping off and covering windows, etc. But A+ for effort!! :)
Darn shame. I have every confidence in you two. You will recover and your paint job will turn out better than ever when you are done. By the way, I love the red stripe where you put it.
So sorry about Mother Nature. It will get done . You guys may have set backs , I’ve never see you give up. I know you have a schedule. But I can tell that you both need a break. Why don’t you do a day of metal detecting with kids. Picnic . Away from house. Just a day to rejuvenate. ❤️
What was that saying, "Been there, done that"? I feel for you, because I had the same thing happen to me ... and it didn't really even rain. I painted the top edging late in an Autumn evening, the cool air didn't let it dry, and the dew buildup during the night dripped the dark green down upon the full length of my 75 foot trailer house during the night. I had planned on painting the main body of the house the next spring because it was so late in the season but now had to, and before I could finish the entire 75 feet BY ROLLER, not sprayer, the fall rains struck and I was done until the next spring. Lesson to be learned. Don't start unless you have 2 weeks of guaranteed dry, warm weather. My opinion.
I was hoping to see what you ended up doing after this video but it looks like I'll just have to wait some more. So sorry it started raining. Bum, bum, bummer. Either way I have confidence you two have things under control. Hope the paint wasn't to toxic for the land...
Check out tini homes spain. You could clad your home in corragated steel or regular or wood cladding. No painting for wood and oxidized steel is really cool looking. Necroing this thread and congrats on your hard work.
aaawwww.....So sorry about the rain. The paint job was really looking good. Was that a tattoo I saw on Ashley's neck? She's so cute and quiet, and conservative, I didn't take her for the tattoo type. (Sorry Ash!) I really liked it, though. You surprised me. I'm almost 66 and never got one, even though I think about it. Guess I'm a chicken when it comes to needles. Can't wait for the next video!
PS: I saw an old video saying you were from Upstate New York. What town/city, if you don't mind my asking? I live in Western NY, near Buffalo and Niagara Falls.
Yea, I got the tattoo when I was 19 I believe. I designed it myself. It has no meaning behind it, I just want to get it removed at some point since I have come to appreciate natural skin :) We both grew up in Saratoga County, NY and moved to Indiana in 2013. Thank you!

Hang in there you guys, it will get better. I'm praying your rain holds off for you to finish the trailer. I'ts going to be awesome!
Well crap!!!! I loved the touch at the end, ... Doug's quote... Perfect!!! Stay shining!!! 😉💞☀️
The red looks EXCELLENT!!!! MAKES IT POP OUT GREAT JOB YOU 2
*looked excellent ;)
You two always come out on top and one of the most important assets you both have is your patience and acceptance with whatever happens knowing you will move on and resolves all the issues with which you are presented. KUDOS for being excellent examples of behaviour for Belle and Maverick.

Arggg, darn the rain. What a difference a coat of paint makes. 👍👍
Every thing will be fine. Rain must fall and we must persevere! Your home will look wonderful!
Hugs, it will turn out okay and beautiful like you guys. Hang in there and you will prevail.
yes, indeed, keep on shining :) Going out to work on my own "darkness" project right now (just a fence, but it has been a challenging project).
We always look forward :)
This is one instance where a cell phone would be handy. I use mine to check the weather on the go.
So sorry about the rain. No need to get down, life is like that sometimes. You guys are young and vibrant, keep up the awesomeness.
Sometimes I have such a hard time watching these... all that hard work!!!! You guys amaze me. Believe me you will go along way. So humble but yet so smart. Blessings every time all the way from Yorkshire in the U.K. 👍🙏
WOW! Not the rain. It looked like a scene out of the movie Carrie when the red paint started to run down off the walls. Nice ⭐ on the back of your neck Ashley, first time I noticed you had a tattoo.
Oh no! Bless your hearts! It was looking so good.
Thumbs down on the rain but thumbs up on the great attitude and the ending line of the video!

So far so good! I might run out of battery before this video is done. I will watch more later. Looks good white too!
That's a bummer! Hopefully it won't be all that bad when the dust settles. Life happens. I know you will do whatever needs to be done. The force is strong in these two!
It's looking great, and sometimes in our life a little rain must fall, but at least it wasn't the entire trailer. Keep fighting the good fight.
When you repaint the red paint, can you tape up a sheet of cheap plastic under the lip below the red to prevent dripping onto the white in the event of another rain?
Cliffhanger! How will things turn out? Tune in tomorrow, same time, same channel. My fingers are crossed.
999fedora Lol!🤔

So much work! Here’s hoping the rain stopped very shortly after it started.
This just breaks my heart guys....:( All that work! I know you will prevail and it will be beautiful in the end! Keep your chins up!
Nothing holds you guys down. Keep up the good work..
You always have such a positive outlook when things go south. So many people get bogged down in negativity instead of keeping their eye on the prize
You guys have a great attitude. I've painted a mobile home and bought paint specifically for aluminum siding...it looked awesome!
bummer but we know you two will not let this defeat you! Can't wait to see the reveal!
:D

Sorry for the running due to rain, but it will be fine, keep smiling ...
Beautiful sentiment at the end . God bless you! X

I loved that too! Very profound and telling, how this couple handles adversity!
You poor people - all that work! Feel so bad for you - it will get better, think positive.
Thank you! Don't feel bad, look at all the great people here rooting for us :) We will recover and keep pushing ahead.
So sorry..you two are strong and always positive..it will be awesome ..looking sooo nice..stay strong..💪✌
That's the year it started raining here in NY around the 22nd, and rained pretty much everyday until a major snowstorm hit in mid October. Bugs, dust and rain. A painters' worst nightmare!
Life is so strange and challenging sometimes. Feels as though only the good are struggling.
Oh no...sooooo sorry...that's disheartening! It sure looks good, tho.
Yes, all you can do is keep moving forward. I’ve been there and it sucked. You will prevail!
Never give up! You will succeed.
Keep your chins up guys, it's going to look amazing..
Had the same weather here today got soaked...
*that's all we can do during moments of darkness.....SHINE*
My Daddy used to say, A coat of paint covers a multitude of sins....indeed. Too bad for the rain though. I'm in Cali. We could use a quickie.
Jenny Duncan shout out from Huntington beach. We sure can use some of that rain, especially with this heatwave and high humidity we've been having.
Looking at your red hands made me laugh. Reminded me of syrup. No matter how hard you try, it always ends up all over the bottle. 😂😂. I love the colors btw. Amazing job you guys!!
14k subscribers! Great news. Kinda snuck up on you. Congrats!
it’s going to be ok. paint job can be fixed. hopefully you didn’t get any water inside the house.
I am so sorry that it started to rain. I was shocked when I saw the red paint running down on the white. That is horrible..

That looks awesome. And people pay big bucks for pants painted like that!
We're novices also and we just share what we're doing :) Thanks!
What a bad thing to happen but stay strong and you as I know will come out with the sunshine best wishes
OMGoodness you guys!! I feel so bad for you. The paint job looked so good too.
In moments of darkness, keep on shining!! Love you guys!!
Darn shame. I have every confidence in you two. You will recover and your paint job will turn out better than ever when you are done. By the way, I love the red stripe where you put it.
looking so good proud of you guys
So sorry about Mother Nature. It will get done . You guys may have set backs , I’ve never see you give up. I know you have a schedule. But I can tell that you both need a break. Why don’t you do a day of metal detecting with kids. Picnic . Away from house. Just a day to rejuvenate. ❤️
You poor things. That's heart breaking. Normally these type of things happen to me when I'm renovating.
My opinion.
So sorry that happened guys!!
I was hoping to see what you ended up doing after this video but it looks like I'll just have to wait some more. So sorry it started raining. Bum, bum, bummer. Either way I have confidence you two have things under control. Hope the paint wasn't to toxic for the land...
They make paints pretty safe today so it will be okay. We're just working on the final touches, and we should have a video out tomorrow morning :)
Out in the Country Cool! You two are awesome.
Hi you guys love your mobile home you guys and your kids are awesome
Thank you :)
But that red is looking real pretty too👍👌
I don't know why I'm watching this episode again! 😭😭😭😭😭
SO NICE.. WHAT A DIFFERENCE..
Anytime you paint with red, use grey primer 🥰
I am so sorry . You worked so hard.
Love the paint job. Love your attitude. You guys are amazing.
Well I'm sorry about the rain and I was wrong about the red it's nice, I'm from Sweet Home Alabama so it looks like Roll Tide colors 2 me
Check out tini homes spain.
I am 70 and it's what you said!!! :-) XX
Hey I used to live outside Buffalo, in Tonawanda and then Cheektowaga (1970's). :-) XX Miss those Indian names out here in CA. :-) XX
Like the Scajaquada Expressway? LOL Out-of-towners never get that one!
Yea, I got the tattoo when I was 19 I believe. I designed it myself. It has no meaning behind it, I just want to get it removed at some point since I have come to appreciate natural skin :) We both grew up in Saratoga County, NY and moved to Indiana in 2013. Thank you!
Can't wait to start on ours so many ideas for us
We watch all your video's
Awesome work
Thanks, we really appreciate that.
