I literally sat for weight painting for 3-4 hours before I decided to check out YT and now I see this video..... These add-ons could really help me out a lot, but I gave up xDD Well, next time I will try to weight paint using these add-ons (the first two add-ons look very useful)
welcome to weight painting. character rigging is very straight forward, but if you search for weight painting tutorials on YT you’ll find just a few, and they will be very long with lots of noodling. There is zero chance you’ll get in 3-4h and even if you use an algorithm you’ll be completely lost when you inevitably have to fine tune.
If I create a base model with another program like MakeHuman or Character Creator, that already comes with its rig and import it as an fbx file into Blender, then I sculpt it to modify it with one of these Add-ons, can I automatically modify the weight maps once I have finished sculpting the model?
I was hyped about voxel heat skinning but it turned out to be useless for me. Worked worse than mixamo, idk maybe it's because of new blender version or something.
THIS! This is what I was looking for! Finally! No more dealing with Autodesk products! Blender all the way! WAHOOO!!! EDIT: Once I can afford it... [ *sigh* ] Damnit...
@@Dartr All of those plugins do not cost $30, they cost ~$82 total. No. I cannot afford it right now until my next pay. My computer was built years ago, mate. Money changes during that time.
@@OnyeNacho you really don't need ALL of them. Really, if you can't afford 30 dollars, you don't need any of them, you need to study motion design and sell yourself better
@@Dartr That is a load of over-zealous bullshit! Look, I know how to model and animate. I do it often in 3DS Max for my own games. I've been working in game development and art for nearly 16 years. Until now, I had no reason to move to Blender for rigging and animating characters because I could not find a way to rig objects using vertex weight selection and painting like 3DS Max offers. These tools finally offer that. Soon as my next paycheck arrives I am buying the tools.
Voxel heat deffue: 30$
Handy weight: 19.95$
Adjust vertex weight: 8$
Lazy weight: 24$
Thanks boss
never truly understanding how to weight, priceless
I just checked and three of them had their price changed:
Voxel heat deffuse: 30$
Handy weight: 25$
Adjust vertex weight: 10$
Lazy weight: 27$
I am one step away from rigging a model by hand, and that step is money
The voxel heat skinning is a must have addon

Brave rabbit weight painting tool is free and my favorite. Other are great too if serious about weightpainting.
ohh bigthank you for mentioning that one, big fan of Brave Rabbit tools, from back in the day in Maya. But now blender too? Awesome!

Yes, but all sculpting must keep vertex count. If you add or delete vertices you will need to weight paint again.

Just bought it - not happy
Maybe my mesh is trash 😂
This may work 100% accurate for only Mixamo characters ?
which one did you buy?
