    Great video Alan, I never knew Ireland made so many machines. I used to fabricate and build machinery over my time in engineering Furrow Presses, Cultivators, trailers , front linkage kits, massive grain silos, all sorts over a 40 year period.

    Great video sir , top stuff …. Anyone remember Tullow Farm Machinery ??? Bagnelstown Co Carlow….. someone on here must know them or worked there!! Did Rossmore buy Tanco’s loader division? Don’t know why that popped into my head … maybe my 3rd Guinness 😂 sugar factory pushed on the engineering Carlow , big time and then you had BrAhun and Lapple who made car panel forming dies ….. Keenan , Hi Spec, Grasstech …… Had Dooley’s here in Kilkenny but they are closed now ….

      Yes, I remember Tullow Farm Machinery well, i remember collecting stuff from them years ago.. They closed around the year 2000 due to financial issues, so they are gone a good while.

    Good video Alan. I think theres so many engineering companies in Carlow as a result of the sugar factory that was there. Not sure about Mayo.

      Thanks Eamon. Definitely, the sugar industry helped Carlow. 👍

      There are a few connections in the mayo scene, Mike Malone worked for McHales at one point and the owners of AgriSpread are cousins of the owners of Major. I stand to be corrected of course.
      (We are growing better rushes now then the ‘80s because Europe is driving the farmers off the land)

    The farm machinery manufacturing sector seems to get very little coverage in the media. We have world class manufacturers here in Ireland who are acknowledged worldwide, but yet very few outside of agriculture have ever even heard of them.

    • @AgrimotiveFarmMachinery

      That's very true, Gerard. I even find, within the industry, their are still manufacturers that end users haven't heard of. 😕

    Thanks for another informative video Alan, we have a lot of top class machinery and trailer manufacturers in ireland,there are a few smaller ones around too,Carroll's in Cavan,there is a Roche lad making good strong looking trailers in Tynagh or there abouts in Galway im sure there are more aswell but no shortage of equipment as you said👍

      @@AgrimotiveFarmMachinery Absolutely. The big farms in the middle east here employ a number of Irish and UK lads. They have Abbey & Redrock Tankers, Redrock and Kane dump trailers and the big baulk tanks for milk are made in Cork I believe. I asked why and the reason given was simple, as its the best built kit in the world.

    Do tanco not make loaders anymore ?

    • @AgrimotiveFarmMachinery
      @AgrimotiveFarmMachinery  5 месяцев назад

      Hi.. No, Tanco has not made loaders in a long time. The company was taken over some 20 years ago, and during a restructuring of their business model, the production of front end loaders ceased. Thanks for watching 👍
