What's next for Spring Hill Mall? Village reveals potential plans after mall's closure

It’s the end of a shopping mall era in West Dundee, as Spring Hill Mall, built in 1980 on 100 acres of land, will permanently close March 22.

Sad :( used to live close enough where I'd ride my bike there and shop in the Disney Store and GameStop in my early teens. The Sports Fanatic was also great. I remember being there a lot with my family and buying Christmas gifts for them there, as well. Just hope whatever the village does next creates great memories of family and growing up for the next generation like the Spring Hill Mall did for me as a kid.

Took my daughter there a lot when she was a little girl.
It has been dead for years now.
The best idea for its use was a 2nd campus for ECC (Elgin Community College) and that was actually a really good idea.
The influx of students and faculty would have poured money into the surrounding restaurants, but this new vision is just beating a dead horse.

I used to work overnight security there starting in 2001 to 2012. I seen its decline. Sad to see it go but not surprised at all. Well, it's great site for a prison. 😬
