I didn’t realize how important the right foot placement is, thank you!

I also learned this watching the throws!

Foot placement is so important for throwing anything, be it a ball, a punch, or even a frisbee. Shame it often gets overlooked in ultimate. I only realised through a similar process of studying training footage of my team some years back.

Bending flicks had always seemed pretty natural to me going OI, but I'm still working on IO. Some of these clips gave me a new perspective on that, so thanks! I second the comment that over of these on backhands could be really useful too.

Thanks so much, Rowan!! Been watching your videos for a couple months and I share them with my teams... my summer team recently qualified for Nationals and your videos certainly helped :)

Hi bro, you are doing excellent jod! Thanks for sharing your tips. Currently I'm leaving in China where this sports is booming in this year, more and more people are interested in but it's hard to find good coaches here. So I suggest you to post your videos on some Chinese social media platform so no doubt you will get lost of followers and many other benefits in future. Tack care. Thanks.

Thanks Rowan! Can you make one for backhands?

Thank you so much, this video is perfect! I've having troubles for weeks with my flick huck, I thought I had the yips or something. Turns out I was trying to force my foot lateral too much to get around my defender. Didn't know the foot tied in so much.

This was really interesting! I've always focused on changing my wrist to modify the flight shape, and I've had some feedback in the past that you shouldn't step forward while throwing a forehand. Looking forward to playing with these new ideas in practice! Thanks as always for your content.

Sounds good! You are on the right track, try it out in practice to see how it feels. Remember, it comes down to what feels good and works for you. Appreciate the comment 🙌

If you’ve got the basic technique down that you can usually make a reliable throw just focus on the path and everything else falls into place. All the research in motor learning when I was doing my kinesiology degrees said it’s more effective than internal (proprioceptive) cues.
If you ever wanna give an expert the yips just ask them a ton a about technique
