I was teaching this to one of my students last night. Just get the ride time and connection.

I liked it before I even watched it because I know it’s gonna be good!

Great detail about chasing the choke...That is a tip I have never heard in many years of grappling. I do know to ramp up the squeeze slowly, but didn’t know that while searching for the angle to apply the choke could cost you the position. Good stuff!

Thanks man. It is just like any other position in grappling: position before submission.
Sometimes it is out desire to win that lets victory slip through our fingers. Don’t clutch it so tightly.

Always awesome stuff. No reason I shouldn’t be decent at jiu jitsu one day 🤪

Great detail on the escape. Couple of questions if you switch the choking hand does the help negate the escape or does that make it easier now to escape? When getting the wedge would it be easier to get if can you use your top leg to hook opponents top leg to help turn them to the side to wedge under opponents back? I almost always lose the back to exactly what you describe and it gets frustrating. I just got my blue belt, so the next 3 months I am just concentrating on rear naked chokes and guillotines. The details you provide are very helpful. Thanks professor for the content.
I noticed when I lose the back is I stay really tight with my ear to their ear and their back tight to my chest with a seatbelt. Even without me attacking choke they get out. Do I push them down to where my thigh acts like a wedge to keep them turning to the floor or ........? Help!
