Thomas was the first great drummer to show me that no matter how great a drummer is it's still difficult for them to copy the previous drummers parts for the song. Dude in no way shape or form even tries to do Johns parts lol that shit bugged the hell out of me at shows but still was in awe the entire time.
Seeing them live in 08 was a religious experience and I’m sure hearing it back it wouldn’t sound as good as it felt in the moment - but Thomas really stole the show ngl
Would be cool to know the grimoire that influenced them the most. Maybe the lamegeton but I would love to know what spirits are behind them besides the ancestors shoulders that we stand upon.
within the first 15 seconds I said to myself "that's Pridgen". His drumming is a lot different to Blake or Theodore or others. I wonder if a version exists with Deantoni on drums - he was in the band for a month or two back around 2006 (from memory)
@@esellwan damn. Thanks for the info. I would love to see what D would've done with the fills in Tetra! Maybe we'll get a chance in the future, if the rumours about TMV reforming are true!!
One of the bands I used to be in would play this to warm up for band practice. Every member absolutely loves Volta. I miss those guys. #TheNakedHowl
THE NAKED HOWL, has some awesome volta footage on his channel, and the naked howl is a FIRE band name. do yall have music available?
Cedric’s fall at 11:25 lmao. This is a great show all around. Love when they were adding all those intro jams to almost every song.

He is the perfect example of how being a skilled drummer doesn't make you a good drummer.

They never played Tetra with D, at least in public.
