Something I've been wondering for awhile but, why do Witches ride brooms? Not only that but, why do they ride it the way they do? It's a thin pole and they have it between their legs when they ride it in the sky with gravity pushing down on their bodies? I think Tewi has the same Idea as I do based on one of her entries in Touhou grand Prix.
I'm assuming it's because it's the way you ride everything else, horses, bicycles, motorcycles etc. Plus it would offer the most control if they have to physically turn the broom, twisting the legs or body would be an easy way to turn the broom. Why they ride brooms and why none of them seem to think of adding a seat to the broom though is a mystery to me.
Because if you hit anything and get knocked backward on it, or get knocked off in the wrong way the blade of the [Insert long, sharp tool or polearm here] will cut you in half?
CannedPsycho in reality it's an stand in for intercourse, it is actually explained in older texts. But witches were believed to have sex with the devil and as lovers to the devil this is where theire powers come from. Hence the broom is a stand in for the devils.... Ukhmnnsnsn. There is a seventeen century treaty on Demoniality, you could also research the guides for inquisition especially the book called "the hammer on the witches" this explains a lot of the details about why witches use brooms and who are theire familiars. Of course none of it is real and it's more or less catholic prejudice towards women... But, they give explanation for certain activities.that are associated with Witches in folklore. OF COURSE Marisa is not a witch but more what she refers to as the ordinary magician and in her case she copied merely the folkloric appearance of a witch from a western book and her powers are a result of dabbling with Youkai magic.
@Constance Maria Leboucher yeah, something like the mages of Dr. Strange or Dragon Age, tapping into the physics of other dimensions in order to perform what we perceive as supernatural events.
This song is also one of my favorite remix’s of Marisa’s theme.

Isn't her magic essentially using the mushroom's of the forest of magic (mainly) as fuel for her magic?
@Constance Maria Leboucher yeah, something like the mages of Dr. Strange or Dragon Age, tapping into the physics of other dimensions in order to perform what we perceive as supernatural events.
Is Marisa able to fly with out her broomstick?🧐
she doesn't need it to fly, she does it by herself during fairy wars.
without as well. Marisa could fly without it but for reasons I haven't looked into yet, she uses a broom.
@@iamlordstarbuilder5595 she uses a broom cause witches use them, and since she's an ordinary magician she wants to use one.
She uses broomstick to help Reimu clean up the mess
Yeah think she doesn't have a broom when playing as her in Hitsoutensoku
