Our Lady of Mount Carmel the first ship that i was obsessed back when i was a child undergoing asthma treatment (thankfully i survived) we went to a park under Fernan bridge called "Pahara" there i saw for the first time a ship passing under the bridge and it was this one, she catches my eye how beautiful she was that i started drawing her everyday even at school just to reminisce my experience that day, even got me inspired to be ship captain back then. And now i stumbled on your channel there announced thay she will be operating again. I completely forgot about this ship that i did not expect that she was now under lite ferries I'm so happy she still actively operating.

She's(Our Lady of Mount Carmel) pretty fast compared to previous Gothong ships(Dona Cristina and Don Benjamin) that plied the route Ozamis-Cebu vice versa during 80's, however, she really can't keep up with M/V Cebu City during Sunday trips from Ozamis to Cebu. She departs at 7pm while M/V Cebu City is at 8pm. But M/V Cebu City still arrives 1 hour earlier than her.
Don Benjamin is a ropax, a ship similar to doña Cristina is the mv Don Bonifacio maiden voyage to Ozamiz with Capt. Alvarez and CMete Alvarez which also a part time teaching subject sa MIT-Bañadero Nautical course... Then, ROPAX mv Doña Josefina bigger comes in, with Don Calvino and others alternating on daily basis Cebu-Ozamiz vv route, to compete or killed William Lines ships WW2 slow ships... Btw, those times the BSMT dean of MIT,mis Capt. Angbetic which also the Master of mv City of Ozamiz of Tamula Shipping, also have family owned house the oldest house in the city fronting Oxrox park...
But, when mv Our Lady of Naju came in, sisiw si Cebu City, speeding 30knots in just 7-8 hours (so sometime with favorable currect current 6 hours lang)... Kaya, may time na daily ang rota nya Cebu-Ozamiz vv except Friday ng OLON,then competition pa rin nilipat si mv Iligan City cruiser type with similar speed, that takes 7 hours said route, one time onboard going that route (WLI connecting trip am from Manila) on rough weather leaves Cebu at 10pm but still arrived in Ozamiz at 5:20am...
