thanks for the playthrough. I like the push your luck aspect, and I like the different special abilities, but overall the game feels waaay tooo slow. It seems to take too many turns to accomplish anything. Maybe they need to allow you 2 main actions instead of 1? Not sure, but something needs to speed up the game. Not sure the price point is right either.
What an interesting game thanks for the play through. To me it seems a little weird to have a vampire in Cthulhu mythos I’m just trying to figure out if I’ve ever read about a vampire.
that felt weird to me too. Spiders of Leng would have fit the theme better. Thematically the open/closed windows dont make sense either, because the vampire is hanging onto the train from the outside. So, whether the curtains are open or closed, he's getting the same amount of sunlight.
So it’s weird for me, the original Horror on the Orient Express call of Cthulhu campaign had an infamous vampire hounding the party as they traveled across Europe and a big part of it was learning his back story. So for people like me who know the base campaign like the back of their hand it’s like an old enemy is back.
That would be because he is from the tabletop RPG campaign upon which this game is based. There are elements from that campaign integrated into this game, but this game is its own thing separate from the campaign. As a fan of the tabletop RPG, it's very cool to see these tie-ins.
@@ulyssescastillo4689 Yes the Vamp's hanging on the carriage, but when they activate the effects occur INSIDE the carriage. The figurine isn't required to be moved into the car, but the effects are as if the Vamp had moved in through a window. As far as Gameplay & Narrative are concerned, the activated Vamp is considered INSIDE the car during their action. If your players do find that too confusing - I suggest simply placing the Vamp piece inside the car when they activate :)
I think you made a mistake at 1:07:15... I may be wrong, but are you not supposed to skip placing the monsters since there was no token on that event? Or am I mistaken?
The difficulties differ only by the number of "Helping Event" tokens you add to the Event Tokens Bag at the start of the game: 2 for easy, 1 for normal and 0 for harder (with the latter being recommended for experienced players).
I am unsure since I set it up and tore it down by myself, and it was a prototype. Usually you'll have at least one other person helping you setup in my experience.
Sigh..... Another Cthulhu game... What does this make? the 100th variation?. Come up with a new idea guys. These games are just rinse and repeat now. No interest in Cthulhu themed games at all anymore. I always enjoy watching your playthroughs, but yeah, think I'll be skipping this one.
Absolutely bonkers the amount of effort you put into this. Really interesting, easy to follow and completely convinced me to get the game.
Thanks for the kind words :)
Dang, I was really interested in seeing the rest of that game. Looks fun though!
This one looks awesome and from what I can see plays great! Thanks for the video, going to back the game.
Jon is always the best to present and teach a game. Thanks!
Hi Jon. Thanks for this great tutorial (again). All the Best from Germany.
Excellent tutorial. Thanks!
Such a good review, everything is understandable
Jon, you are the best! Glad they chose you for this one.
Wow, awesome video and explanation. Too much effort on to ir.
I will get the game in the LP.
I just have one thing to say: HURRY UP AND RELEASE THIS GAME!
Was directed here from the Kickstarter, great video!
Love the theme, but pulling tokens from a bag is not my thing. The only exception being Thebes, as it actually fits the theme.

love the setup, great tutorial
Fantastic game tutorial. Although I love the game's theme, it just seems overly complicated.
I think this is one I'll be giving a pass.
Thank you for this. I am absolutely backing this game now
This game looks awesome. I just pledged at the VIP level :)

Monster activation is printed on the board, and they activate based on what event tokens were not revealed.
Can you explain what difficulty you are playing (easy, normal, proper) as well as the differences between each?
The difficulties differ only by the number of "Helping Event" tokens you add to the Event Tokens Bag at the start of the game: 2 for easy, 1 for normal and 0 for harder (with the latter being recommended for experienced players).
Thanks for the video. What’s the scale on the miniatures?
Thanks!
No, thank you! :)
11:14 is that gonna be dry erase in the final product? Or what?
I think it'll be a pad of sheets, but I am not sure.
For me personally, drawing from the bag is so stressful compared to flipping a card for some reason.
Setup time ?
And teardown time to put everything back into the box ?
I am unsure since I set it up and tore it down by myself, and it was a prototype. Usually you'll have at least one other person helping you setup in my experience.
@@JonGetsGames thanks, usually I do setup and teardown myself. But hope it will be optimized for quicker setup somehow
great video thanks :)
