Any idea how to set signal range
If surveyor asks action by oow on receiving distress alert, what will be my answer?
Check location of distress, Inform master , see how far is distress posn, if nearby than plot and wait for master instructions if distress is nearby, make log entries of sequence in GMDSS logbook, see if any nearby vsl or coast stn has acknowledged ... acknowledging a distress msg and further actions are upon masters order but as a duty officer your initial actions shud include as I mentioned above.
Additionally if u acknowledge it than put on RT frequency...depending on whatever dsc frequency u have recvd the distress. And record timing of everything and log it

@@SailorVikas I tried ... actually couple of days back in rough weather n very strong wind the antenna got a bit damage ... May be because of it.
Sorry, it’s not correct cancellation! According Rec 349 you should first of all send self acknowledge using DSC (if coast station didn’t acknowledge distress) and after say All station cancel message! This is important! Learn GMDSS
