  • In this video, Cathy discusses EKG abnormalities, including: bundle branch blocks, sinus pauses, and escape beats. She also covers the key EKG abnormalities seen with electrolyte imbalances (hyperkalemia, hypokalemia, hypercalcemia, hypocalcemia, hypermagnesemia, hypomagnesemia), cardiac disorders (angina, ischemia, pericarditis), and respiratory disorders (pulmonary embolism, COPD).
Our EKG Interpretation video tutorial series is taught by Cathy Parkes BSN, RN, CWCN, PHN and intended to help RN and PN nursing students study for their nursing school exams, including the ATI, HESI and NCLEX.

I love this video. The other EKG abnormalities are so common on cardiovascular testing. If you redo this one can you please mention why the abnormalities are seen for each abnormality. For example. , I don’t quite grasp how angina reflects ST depression, and T wave inversion. Thank You!

I had three EKGs done within this year and they all came back perfect and they were all three different doctors, different clinics, one of the doctors even said I had one of the healthiest Hearts he'd ever seen!
I'm 54 years old I don't smoke I don't do drugs I rarely drink I probably don't exercise as much as I should but I do stay active sometimes I have pizza and burgers but that's about it
But I just had another EKGs today at a new clinic to get my prescription of Viagra and they said they saw something abnormal is that possible after I had three in the same year and all saying they were excellent results?? They've also did Blood and x-ray and found nothing on me I've never had any heart problems or any surgeries..

It would be good to find out what they saw, and find out if you need to follow-up with a cardiologist to further investigate the abnormality... Have you had another EKG since then?

No but it's hard to believe I had three in one year and then all the sudden it's abnormal and I can run three times a week for 30 minutes hardly out of breath no health issues never had any
