- For many cats and owners, a trip to the veterinarian can be a cause of severe stress. It's critical for cat owners to understand the importance of routine veterinary check-ups. The American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) is helping in the education process with the launch of its new 3-part video series about its Cat Friendly Practice® (CFP) program.
This video kicks off the series with a brief overview that educates cat owners on how Cat Friendly Practices can benefit their cats by providing a high quality-of-care, as well as some tips to reduce stress at the veterinary practice. I was surprised to hear the vet say that it was all right to let the cat explore the exam room if they so choose. I would have tried to prevent the cat from escaping the carrier.
