I live in the highlands of Scotland and if you ever come back you could consider going to the island of Skye it is one of the most beautiful locations in Scotland honestly stunning.
So excited for this episode. Thursday has become a day to look forward to. It's great to see the adventures again. Scotland and it's majestic beauty and historical land marks are fascinating. Stay warm and dry. Love to Alaska and good luck on the next adventure. ♥️🇨🇦
When i visited Scotland i typically had to ask for them to repeat themselves about 3 times... and I REALLY struggled to keep up with conversations between two Scots!! Its the hardest english accent to understand - in my books.
I live in the wee Scottish town of Pitlochry and own a 1966 Split Screen VW which we've had for 20 plus years. Love driving it around the narrow highland roads exploring this amazing country. Was great to see you guys up here and keep safe on your travels. Thanks for the amazing content as always.
the serie is amazing !You two have such a great way to show us what you guys are doing ...No bling bling No ding ding just rawness and good taste!!! Sheers
I love Scotland me and my daughter done a road trip in 2018 in Disco Doris cant wait to go back. Excellent video always a pleasure watching, keep living the dream
Guys , seriously! You two are awesome. I stumbled across your series about 2 weeks ago and it was like having a movie marathon. The way you put your films together is just amazing. hopefully when you come to Australia you will have a few years here, its nothing like Scotland but its still great in its own way. Hopefully I'll get to shake your hands and buy you a drink.
We love Edinburgh. In our opinion its the best city in the world. We love the fact you can take a gentle stroll out of the hustle and bustle of the city and your in nature in the mountains. Its awesome. Nice vlog BTW 👍
Given up on tv a couple of years ago. Channels like yours confirm that choice! Stay free guys. (I’ll be honest: seeing if you were able to keep Alaska from an earlier made me dig in more. 🖐🏽 dog fan.). Safe travels.
hi Ben and Leah - thanks for sharing - wonderful footage of Scotland - awesome. Boomerang is doing good - Australia here you come !!! Looking forward to following on - 15 days until we hit the road and our sleepless nights and churning stomachs have started - LOVE IT !!!! Happy travels and stay safe - Chris & Marianne x🚎🙏🌍
Wow! Absolutely stunning. I am currently outfitting a Promaster in my driveway in anticipation of a trip to Arizona this winter and a trip to Alaska this summer. However, I did just get my freshly minted passport and you make me want to go to Scotland! Thank you for taking us along.
It's just stunning watching your vlogs. The beauty just brings tears to my eyes. Drove those road myself back in the late 60's. Fab, Fab, Fab. Just enjoy your lives. Love Alaska and love how you love her. Best to you. Jane, Philadelphia.
I ❤️ you guys!!! The editing and filmatography is amazing. I love the relation you guys have created with the camera and the audience. I’m so happy to be a member and to contribute to such beautiful spectacle
So happy you managed a couple of sunny days while you were here. Lochinver Pie Shop is fantastic, such a gem so far north. Don’t think you needed the subtitles though, it’s you two I struggle to understand! 😂😂🏴🏴
My ancestors come from Scotland. When I was watching this I imagined them coming all that distance to Australia, it must have been hard to leave their beautiful home behind.
Hey guys. Wonderful, wonderful production. Great images, commentary and just stunning scenery. Thank you so much for sharing. News from Australia in case you were wondering. Lotsa fires 🔥 down here. Our PM has gone AWOL and we still have seen no signs of rain. The offing are thinking maybe February. Keep up the production and wishing you Merry Christmas 🎄 as well and safe travels. 😘
Great job guys. Somehow even the bad Scottish weather seems to be pleasant in your vids. Keep up the great work! Hope to see you around Austria in spring or summer 2020 :D.
Lots of beautiful shots! I've been behind watching this series, but I've had the flu the last few days and binged through the last couple seasons. It's great to see you guys out again and exploring! Inspires me to get out there and travel more myself! Happy travels!
2 days ago I got this totally random video suggestion of this couple searching America for a VW Kombi so they could go on this ambitious journey to Australia. I’ve since binge watched nearly 30 videos of this fantastic journey and gone from knowing very little about this lifestyle to totally wanting to buy a van and experience van life myself. I can’t thank you guys enough for opening my eyes and showing me what exciting possibilities lie ahead. On a separate note, your videos are so beautifully put together and I keep needing to remind myself that I’m not actually watching the Discovery Channel because your work is easily on par with what they produce, if not better. Thanks guys, I look forward to your continued journey and while I wait for your next episode, I’m going to carry on binge watching your previous adventures 😊. All the best, Glenn.
Great trip guys....glad you did the glenmorangie distillery it’s a fantastic place to visit.....I bet you have a bottle or two onboard now! Have a lovely Christmas!
We regularly travel up to the Highlands and Islands.. Nowhere to beat it in the UK. The N500 should be compulsory for all travellers. The scenery it takes you to is just breath taking. we love the pie shop and have visited in several times.
Cold weather & an open unheated air cleaner....but you probably already know warm air & an air box of some sort will get you through....Great episode , beautiful country ...keep it up.!
Great Scotland, the rugged nature, reawakens memories when I hiked there for two weeks ending with a city visit in Edinburgh, where I bought myself a T-shirt which I love a lot Only the weather and the midges, almost immune to anti insect products
Living in Scotland and with my VW T4 camper i have been all over Scotland the weather just enhances the scenery if you like to wild camp , in 15 years i have never been in a camp ground best regards
Astonishing place, I’ve been there before, the mountain and the view are breathtaking, if you guys still there, there place call Portree, you guys should pay a visit, one restaurant there are really good quality food
Thanks guys, excellent video full of interesting content and well presented. am enjoying the journey so far, Happy New year to you and good luck on your travels. Hugh
I'm so glad you included Scotland on your world adventures, like the midges there's as many single track roads all leading to mystic an beautiful places, all the best for your 2020 adventures
Excellent content as usual... you guys put a lot of effort into your editing and storyline. Favorite scene in this episode is Alaska driving at the end.
8th Gen Aussie with Fyfe ancestors, it always feels like home. Been 10 long years since my last trip there and will be back. A pie in Scotland and a pie in Tasmania seems like the perfect way to bookend your adventure - see ya in a cupula years. Merry Xmas
Love those measures of whiskey .. you can be my barman anytime ... We didn't get into the pie shop when we visited .. did you check out the pottery place ... rather cool and some fantastic walks up the River Inver next time you are exploring those parts ....
The kombi is a natural mud terrain king, and its for the same reasons the bug is such a popular buggy platform, engines weight hung over the back axle. The only thing better is a 4x4. I once travelled a rained out mud road for 60km to a remote town and back - no problems.
Beautiful - and what a great guy is Neil to have on your side. Bit worried you were going to get stuck miles from anywhere and anyone at that last park up! Good to get out of that one
I'm glad you had a chance to visit one of my ancestral homes, in the highlands. I hope you also had a chance to visit the fairy pools up, around Dunvegan, on Skye-Safe journey.
Hey Ben, maybe you can put a net between the chairs while driving, so that Alaska won't fly through the bus if you make an emergency stop. Love your dog!
These rear engines vans are nearly as capably as 4x4s ~ I had a 1972 version myself ~ we'd have been like yous except four little children and no dog ~ ;) we climbed mountains, visited the ruins scattered by Cromwell and crossed rivers, we did get stuck in snow though ~ as for mud ~ never a problem, pour Transits and Hiace vans that followed later were disasters in even slight mud.
Really appreciate you guys touching briefly on being mostly vegetarian but eating meat in special circumstances. I'm in the same boat, for primarily climate but also ethical reasons, but don't forego meat on what I deem "special occasions" (namely, certain experiences mostly while traveling , or sometimes whilst visiting friends and family... though I always end up feeling a bit shit after). Just found it v relatable, as is so much of your content, and thought I'd comment (I think for the first time?) Cheers and wishing you groovy travels, thanks for sharing the trip x
Love the video, been to Scotland several time's unfortunately not to stay, always business quick stop and go. I am a Patreon but cant find where you are now, I am in Cornwall and hoped to meet you. I am surprised you have not added the silver reflective window film I suggested to you instead of those panels you have to keep taking on and off. really wanted to meet Alaska to hoon around with my boy up Kit Hill just down the road from me. Looking forward to the next episode trying to work out how far behind the uploads are to your real time now.
Cheers Nick, We've got a real time update coming to you very soon. Filmed it today. Unfortunately we've already passed through the UK now. Maybe see you at the Europe Kombi Crew meet up - any excuse for a road trip, ;)
Congratulations on getting 500k subscribers! I look forward to further adventures. Did you know you can get a vegetarian haggis? Try Waitrose or a wholefood shop. Happy solstice!

Glad to hear it Alisa. Thanks for watching.
Well done for showing such great hospitality Neil. 🏴🏴🏴 💪
Subtitles for the Scottish guy with one of the clearest accents going!?
And one of the poshest I might add
I know right... Almost though he was not scottish!
When i visited Scotland i typically had to ask for them to repeat themselves about 3 times... and I REALLY struggled to keep up with conversations between two Scots!! Its the hardest english accent to understand - in my books.
@@mikescudder4621 That’s because it’s not an English accent - It’s Scottish don’t you know. :>)
@@raibeart1955 True! I take that back. I meant to say 'the hardest English to understand'....

The best travel show I’ve seen on RUclips !😎
Oh wow. Thanks.
Easily!
I'm 15 and from germany. You make me want to do the same thing when i'm older... Traveling is great
Happy travels and thanks for watching.
Same here mate
as soon as you come of age never put it off do it you will never regret it
Invest for passive income than travel. 😎
I have just binged this entire series, I'm excited to see what you guys have in store
Have you binge-watched the Hasta Alaska series yet?
I love how subtitles were put in over someone with a Scottish accent
What Scottish accent?
and how Im not native english speaker and understand him completely.
Shrek has a more broad Scottish accent. No need whatsoever.
Neil was perfectly understandable to most people - but some people who speak English as a 2nd (or 3rd+) language would need them
@@KombiLife same is true of you guys too though

It's funny how those sliding door sounds bring so much memory, I spent my vacations as a kid travelling in a type 2 Kombi van, man I loved it so much!
Another great episode guys, now I want to go out and buy another bottle of whiskey! ;P

These videos are fantastic. I’ve been watching since you were in panama, and you guys have only improved. Keep it up!
There was a spot with vegetarian haggis half a block from where you were eating it. Not the same, but was an option.
I’m from Scotland man love your vids
I love how you have subs for Neil but us Scots have no trouble understanding him!
TBH, I'm Dutch and can understand him perfectly fine too!
I’m American and can understand him.
Yes it was annoying to have subs for Neil
I think it was humorous shade cuz I’m American and this is no problem for me.
I could understand him, he didn't need subtitles.
Beautiful - and what a great guy is Neil to have on your side. Bit worried you were going to get stuck miles from anywhere and anyone at that last park up! Good to get out of that one
