The IDS was a lot cooler in the 70s when they had Woolworths and the observation deck and the basement movie theater.
Truly an iconic building. Mpls needs new vision and the ability to challenge to grow better.
Minneapolis did not start with the ids and build around it xD it was put there bc it was a place to put that place
We need more buildings like this in our skyline. Why is minneapolis not afraid to build three 40 story buildings but not one 60 story building or something like that?
Idk I just hope they don't build something that'll ruin the beautiful skyline we have now. Better than all other Midwest cities (besides Chicago)
@BLandgreen agreed.
@@blandgreen4135An IDS Center style building would make a great addition to the Kansas City skyline as well. We need taller buildings in KC.
There are three other buildings downtown that are close to the IDS height already
The original name was Investor Diversified Services. Cool that hte current owners have kept the IDS nameplate.
So can you visit the top? My mom works down town at ameriprize and its pretty tall but can you get like a visitor pass? For the ids ofc
I don't think there's an observation deck in the ids anymore. You can go to the top of foshay tower, but its $15 :(
bring back observation deck for younger people please
