    Well done guys, Winga and Dave you're a joy to watch. Enjoy your Snapper and please there is no need to ever justify taking a fish home to eat. Especially with what we have been through this year in Melbourne.

    No judgement here guys! Absolutely nothing wrong with keeping a few fish for the table. Sustainability doesn't mean keeping no fish for the table, it simply means only keeping enough for an occasional feed.
    Keep up the work legends - always learn heaps from your Snapper instructional videos.
    Keep up the cracking work, and tight lines.
    Cheers from beautiful SEQ

    Our snapper season is closes in Perth and demersal ban on as well. Thanks for filling the void. 👍👍🎣🎣 ripper snaps boys and nothing wrong with taking some meat for the freezer. ENJOY

    We here in Sth Aus are screwed .......
    We can't even travel over there to try and get one !!!!
    Still have 18 months before I can target Snapper !!

    Thanks for this from new Zealand, we are having great snapper fishing right now as well. That 2nd snapper if it was 85cm in the hauraki gulf would go over 20lb. 7kg fish are usually around 75cm. Great footage guys

    • @YouFishTV
      @YouFishTV  4 года назад +1

      Thank you! Yes our fish are quite lean compared to yours. A 20lb fish would be well into the 90 range generally.

      @@YouFishTV although from what ive seen you guys measure to the tip of the tail, we go to the fork so add/take off 5-10 cm for the tail part

      use the double paternoster rig on your boat rod works a treat , or use a swivel tier to main line with leader with sinker running straight to hook

    Following research concluded by the VFA. Calamari tend to breed in 2 particular kinds of sea grass amphibolis and zostera species. This is preferred by mature calamari. While juvenile tend to breed in seaweed sponges and sea squirts as they tend to live in these patches when they are small. That is what i could find out about it.

    • @razel6
      @razel6 4 года назад

      @@YouFishTV in terms of being correct on the scientific name, i do not think so as i looked for that kind of seaweed and the closest one i found was Sargassum, which is also the scientific name. The other 2 seaweeds were the common breeding weeds. So from this information, i think he was wrong.
