  • High in the peaks of Peru’s Andes Mountains, a large fleet of Cat equipment is part of an effort to successfully access one of the worlds’ largest sources of copper. The remote Toromocho mine, developed by Minera Chinalco Peru, sits at an altitude of 15,420 feet / 4700 meters. This environment can take its toll on workers as well as the equipment they operate, like the site’s Cat® 797 Trucks and 7495 Electric Rope Shovels. In addition to their own support team, Toromocho relies on Cat dealer Ferreyros to ensure these machines deliver top performance. This on-site support includes more than 100 technicians, engineers and support personnel as well as shop and warehouse infrastructure to ensure parts and components are readily available when it’s time for replacement or repair.
