I'm part of that generation and - not that I was particularly interested in the Kardashians in middle school (or now), but you'd get info about them despite your best efforts - you had to be blind to believe that if you were older than 7.
Now that I'm older, I honestly don't see the point in demonising an individual who lied when she was 16 and said ok to her mum putting her name on a make-up line, when this, more than anything, it's a cautionary tale about generational trauma.

She had a pretty big following on the app Keek. She posted funny videos messing around with her friends and this was before the lip fillers etc.
we all liked her because as teenagers we related to her and found her funny.
She stopped showing her personality once people really started focusing on her looks which to some degree affected her confidence. It’s almost as if she became a blank canvas for everyone to project their idea’s of her onto her.
It wasn’t until recently that she started sharing her funny side again and being silly with her friends online.
Guys, they are 100% rage baiting you. It’s actually genius. You actually believe Kylie cares about what people think? Her whole persona is pushing her “perfect” facetuned edited perfected to an inch of their life images in your face on the daily. They LOVE it. They love themselves. Don’t be fooled. This was all another scam to get everyone talking, posting and watching their show. And it is working to perfection. If I didn’t despise them I’d actually congratulate them for another hustle perpetuated on the public.

And the girl speaking in this video is claiming that the damage is permanent. There is no way Kylie can be okay with that. It will take years of extensive therapy for her to come to terms with something like this.
Of course she cares what people think. People complimenting and praising her beauty is what got her to where she is. So naturally it's going to mess with her when those same people criticize and bully her for her looks.

I can't feel sorry for Kylie about this. Years ago on their show I remember seeing a clip of Scott telling Kylie she looked 25 and I don't think she was even 21 yet. But she was so happy and proud and took it as a compliment. At the time I couldn't help but think, "girl you do realize if you look 25 at 19, your gonna look 35 at 25 and so forth."

I think it's also important to remember that when people say they look "old" or "tired" or "ugly", they're not saying it in a vacuum. They're saying she looks old *compared to* the absolutely fake filtered/photoshopped/airbrushed photos the Kardashians have constantly asserted are untouched reality. They're not living up to the photoshopped version of themselves that they intentionally created, and then they play victim to try to get people to stop calling out the man behind the curtain.
(sigh) ...I miss when people talked about "Russian Barbie".
At least she was also a space cadet, for maybe-real...when the Barbie movie came out, she swore that it was secretly about her life in another dimension / on another planet, where everyone looks like Barbies. They are the ones to put themselves in a pedestal. They are the ones putting the beauty standards so high. They decide to do stuff to look unhumanly good like fillers, botox, surgeries and photoshop. It's their fault to be in a place where they are judged in that way, so although I don't feel good for this situation (specially because Kendall and Kylie where kids when their family's show started), I cannot really feel bad for them. It's like with Khloe when a few years ago a photo of her in a bikini (a pretty normal looking photo, by the way, nothing really bad) was leaked, it's not a good situation, but if they didn't fake their looks that would not happen 'cause we would see their real selves.
Kylie has no one to be mad at besides herself and her family. They created these standards by getting hundreds of surgeries and photoshopping every picture beyond recognition… And on top of it they’re nastÿ af to other women! Also, they’ve spent years acting like they’re better than the rest of us, and wanted to be treated differently. But now they’re throwing a fit bc instead of people feeling bäd about themselves for not looking like them, they’re making fun of them for being so fakë. I don’t feel bad for them, at all…
I'm turning 30 in August, and I keep watching this type of video to deter me from touching Botox 😂 Social media is really dangerous and I have to watch how much I scroll for my self-esteem, lol.

I don't think the Kardashians are ugly. I just think their faces are boring. And it doesn't matter what I think because they love themselves, are rich, and are perceived as beautiful to a high compacity. I just really wish I got the hype to see what makes people think they are goddess looking kind of beauty goals when I see them. Yes. She’s definitely had a nose job, cat eye surgery, lip/cheek/jawline fillers and botox. I even heard one plastic surgeon say she most likely got cheek implants, not filler.
By comparing pictures, it's easy to see she has had work done. There are changes that simply don't happen naturally. What annoys me is that they don't admit it. At least own it. Your body. Your money. Own it. It's the selling of their looks as natural, and some media outlets still describing them as natural that annoys me. I don't watch or consume their stuff. However, young girls do. Young girls whose self esteem is hurt by something/someone whose fake. Young girls who've made them beyond rich.

Ehhh, I don't know - either it's okay to shame women's bodies or it's not. There shouldn't be a loophole for abuse just because someone capitalizes on their looks, has altered themselves, etc. I don't care for the Kardashians or what they've done in creating this beauty cultural shift, but they're not alone in that. Trends for women's bodies come and go and we will always be scrutinized, sadly. There will always be someone who becomes the new gold standard. I just don't pay attention to them. But the "you made us feel like crap about our looks, so now we get to make you feel bad about yours" just kinda doesn't float with me on the human level.

Harsh truth to some people is that beautiful people have insecurities too it’s sad , I think it goes beyond and shows how selfish people are and how dangerous jealousy is , it’s hard for people to be happy for people nowadays nonetheless showing empathy others. At the end of the day commentary is best with some unbias.... It's obviously hard to feel bad for people who piggy back off peoples fame, or lie and further push society to believe that is a reachable and natural standard by being disingenuous about their altered appearance. It's not undeniable that these younger two members of the Kardashian were also influenced by their older siblings and the public to alter their appearance or reach a certain beauty standard. Look at Klohe she was the "ugly" Kardashian even though she was the most natural up until her change and the way people spoke about her, regardless of her being a Kardashian and "deserving" the things being said, was terrible...

Kylie can’t possibly be tone deaf enough to think this would be received well. I think the Kardashian brand is doing what many fading stars do, rage bait.
I just think people are giving them so much credit for curating the beauty standards of women today. When in reality, the people online giving them hate for what they’ve done, are the reasons the beauty standards are the way they are. It has evolved so much because of all the money and attention the community has invested into them. They were literally praised for longer than a decade to fit the modern standards of today. Of course they kept feeding into it.
We will remain at a disadvantage if we keep putting them to blame, or even allowing them to remain on their pedestal.
I have never purchased any of their products, and never had the desire to, but I think if we want our beauty standards to change, we need to look within ourselves first before we respond to them, or even the next woman who sets the “standard”… all of this has happened because we saw something that is unobtainable, thus it was something to “work towards” when really we should have just remained ourselves.

I am older than most of your audience, I would guess. :) I’m 47. I’ve been through it. And I’ve learned a lot. It’s hard to watch these women take advantage of every other woman that they can, stepping over them as if they’re corpses, to get where they want to go. They don’t care, and they never will. The why doesn’t matter. Well, it matters to understand so we can avoid it in future, but it doesn’t matter in the here and now.
They have done this to themselves. This is the life they have chosen. It is not sustainable and they know it.
All the times they thought they were winning, it was really we, the authentic beautiful women that were winning. It will continue to be we, the real women who will come out on top in all the ways that matter.
I feel for the girls they were that have been pimped out by their evil mother. But that was a long time ago. We all have the responsibility once we reach adulthood, to put in the work and figure it out.
They were fine to cash the checks. Now it’s time to pay the piper.
I do feel a little bad for the younger ones in the Jenner/Kardashian family, including Kylie. Just because the older ones kind of made the standards so high and messed up.. especially the mom and Kim. Personally I've never had any lip filler, or any filler or botox and I'm not planning on ever getting it. But if I was in a family like the Kardashians my views would probably be different. So much to feel you have to live up to. 🤷♀️

For me at least, it’s really hard to empathize with someone who has had so much Botox that their face can’t really express emotions, because it’s like do you feel sorry for you? I can’t tell by your face. And specifically with Kylie Jenner is that her voice is a bit monotone so the main communications, body language and tone of voice, is gone with her. So for me it’s hard to tell how she really feels about anything.
I don't like them but she's literally telling you how she's feeling. You don't have to read her facial expression. You don't have to undermine her emotions because she got loads of Botox. Your comment actually confirms what the other sister said about being dehumanised. You would never tell to another woman who is expressing pain that you find it hard to empathises because you can't read her body language
I guess do think Botox has dehumanizing effects. Facial expressions help breakdown language barriers. But also people with long use of Botox stop being able to process other people’s facial expressions, decreasing their socialization. But i think you’re forgetting the difference between empathy and sympathy. I can sympathize with her but I cant feel with her because I don’t know what she’s really experiencing in the clip. It could because she’s trying to act a certain way and that snot actually how she feels. A lot of the show is scripted and none of them are great actors.

I'm not forgetting any difference between words. Nothing in my comment suggests I forgot the word, because it was never mentioned in your comment to begin with. You never mentioned you feel sympathy. You only talked about how you can't feel empathy because of botox. So, how are you saying I forgot about the distinction between two words, when we were only discussing ONE of them? If you want to feel superior and bring me down because "I don't know words" do it in a relevant way.
Moving on. You said you can't empathize because of the Botox..now you say you can't empathize because you don't know what she's going through.
The definition of empathy is that you roughly understand what the person is going through even if you are not.
First of all, surely at least once you felt ugly so you must know that feeling. Second, empathy doesn't mean you have to 10000% know what she's feeling. Even if maybe it's acting.
Just say you're unable to feel empathy and that's it. Don't need to beat around the bush to feel better about your lack of emotional empathy. You only feel empathy when it relates to you or you like the person, it seems.. apparently people with Botox don't deserve empathy either..it's ok. Just say it how it is

The thing is humans have evolved to see through crocodile tears so if not seeing what one could describe as genuine emotion we are, quite understandably I think, mistrustful of the person. Secondly “roughly empathizing” sounds like a pretty good description of sympathizing.
In defense of kyie, her mother really wanted get as rich as she could off her kids, and kylie was probably less than 16 years old when the success of kims debut hit kris' pockets. Kylie, as a child produt of her exploitative environment, would have probably done better if she knew better. I dont want to be seen defendig the rich, but if i had that intense of a surgically altered family, i would probably fold the same way. Its hard to pretend to not feel bad, when shes trying to talk about un doing the harm she didnt know she was causing. Would be a lot harder though if she mentioned the harm xaused : /
Thinkin abt kris, not in the clear, but in yalls rearview. Kylie was very young when their family got famous, it’s hard not to look at that as a child-star-like story. I hope she doesn’t Clive barker herself trying to “fix it”. I think there’s a lot more nuance to be told than the topicals we have torn through, and I’m pretty sure there’s no way to ever apologize for the competitive surgical alterations she made alongside Kim and kourtney and kris. Kylie does make an amazing scapegoat for y’all tho, y’all love dragging products of environments instead of looking at the environment with which produces pain.

She can afford the best top-tier doctors and surgeons, and the look still didn't work. So don't assume you'll look amazing getting your face done by someone you can barely afford. The most beautiful woman who have ever been, and are still top 20 most beautiful of all time, lived before fillers and surgeries. Most women today are trying to look like them 40 50 60 years later.

She did this to herself. She is the one making her body and her physique her whole brand, her whole insta page, her image is the selling point of her brands, i mean... no one is here pointing her with a gun making her do this. She is the one that thinks that the only interesting thing about her is her body, and now gets itchy about people criticizing her for her looks and being as shallow as she is.
She is the one that has chosen to give her body and image so much attention. Is not like she is some kind of artist or whatever and people only talk about the way she looks. She always has wanted to be a model, she always is showing off and sexualizing and proffiting off her body...like c'mon girl, give us nothing...
They are the ones who dehumanized themselves because they never let any humanly trait shine through all of their fakeness. The audiences see clearly how they want to be percieved. But thats a doble edged sword, what did she expect?
Edit: her face, her natural face was pretty. Also she was a child, so who knows how her natural face would have matured if she didnt do anything to her face? I look better now at 25 (never did anything) that what i did at 14-16... we change, why didnt she give herself time to mature her natural features? Then decide if she wanted something done...she had too much plastic surgery too early.
