Awesome! I was driving the black c8 that day, was so cool to see all the Lotus there, and totally agree, after the lap with the pro driver in the evora, I changed up my lines and got more aggressive. Was hitting 145 146 mph on the straight.
Great review of the track, it looks like it was more of a private event that day. UMC is the hidden jewel of Motorsports for us locals in Utah, it’s too bad there’s not a lot of pro races going on because it’s flat out awesome. We will just keep enjoying it, love the Elise, I want a boosted one haha 😂.
Thanks so much for watching and glad that you liked the review. Awesome track you have there and the fact that it's not inundated with other events really is a good thing! More for you to enjoy.
Nice video. I'm with you 100% on the track day road trip thing. I'm totally hooked. I figure I've logged about 17,000 miles either on track, or driving to and from. LOG40 was my 6th interstate trip for track days. I'd like to collect the SoCal tracks, and Spring Mountain. I regret not going to the LOG in Birmingham, so I'm pondering a trip to Barber to correct that error. I don't think I ran into you the whole weekend; would have been great to meet you.
Thanks for the comment! I really enjoyed your blog series that you posted on Lotustalk. And I echo your comments about the drivers meeting being poorly organized (as well as the day overall) even though that didn't deter us from having fun! And glad you sorted out your disappearing oil issue!
It’s been done!! I was working on a corner at UMC when we had a car spin off at the attitudes and do a slide off spin right into the cattle guards & it was a 25 minute wait to get the dang car safe & off the the race coarse :) love this & I love my local racetrack. Thank you 😊
This track reminds me of middle eastern circuits like Bahrain or Qatar… Maybe because of the desert setting, or maybe because it's all laid out on a similarly square shaped lot with one long main straight, or maybe because of it's flatness. With several modifications to add more straights and elevations , this could very well be an F1 destination.
@@AtypicalDriver I know for a fact F1 hasn't been there, but it does have the proper length and space to do so; just needs upgraded facilities and maybe a small reconfiguration to induce close racing with modern cars.
Well done! I've been employed here since 2011 and I couldn't ask for a better job. But this season I spent it all in the U Of U Burn unit instead Corner Marshalling we're I should have been! Leader at 14.... Hope to see you in 2022. Look for a white Ford Focus.... And that checkered flag!
Thank you! Man, I don't remember I think I was in the red one. I'd tried to look back on my pics from that day but I didn't see any of me in the ride alongs. If I recall the driver had a broken wrist or some sort of brace on one hand and was still hauling ass. Was that you?
@@AtypicalDriver it keeps going through winter on Saturdays as winter cross, track doesn't get cleared, so you get to drive on snow and ice when it's there. There also are drift events.

Oh awesome, yeah I think I remember the C8 being there! Super fun track.
Awesome video! Looks like a legit track and experience! ❤
Thanks yeah it was fun to try a new track too! Thanks for watching.
i love UMC some of my best times of my life just being there makes all my worries go away
That's awesome! It's such a cool track, hopefully I can get back there again sometime.

I really liked the track and the amenities were great too!
I LOVE to drive around this track myself 😢 done it so so many times.. but at 60 tops lol. I dunno how y’all do that
Why one 60mph??? 🏎️

Although I don't think F1 has ever run there, I do recall they used to have MotoGP or World Superbike Races at this track.

Good vid man. Well said.. What color was the car you got a ride in? I was giving hot laps in the green car that day.

@@AtypicalDriver It wasn't me. I am not sure who that would have been..
$50 isn't a track day 🤣, it's just an hour session of one car at a time.
And any sort of car you want to bring… as long as it “passed tech.”
Ahh thanks for the clarification! Must have misunderstood whoever it was I was talking to at the LOG dinner. Still pretty cool.

@@volodymyrshoniia2424 That sounds awesome, you guys are lucky to have such a cool track so close to SLC. Thanks for watching and for the comments!
It's not that awesome once people in front of you drive through that snow and compact it, then it freezes.
Such a far cry from what it once was.....used to get WSBK there. it is just in a sad sad state
I heard the owner of the track passed away, is that when things went downhill?
This track does not measure up. Oops! They forgot the elevation changes. See Brands Hatch, etc. for correct way to build a race track...
I mean yeah, it is missing elevation (my local track is Laguna Seca which has a decent amount) but despite that I still thought it was really fun!
It's a perfect race track for the category of piece of crap.
I didn’t know European tracks were flat, full of ripples, bumps, poorly maintained and no run-offs.
😂😂😂
