I agree with you. A Dragon would be taking on enormous risk. If the company goes bankrupt, the Dragon would lose 100% of the initial investment of $100k. At the time of the sales pitch in 2011, the company's revenue was projected at only $200k. Had a Dragon invested the $100k in a different investment that gave 5% return (compounded annually) for 13 years, the balance would be worth about $171,000... and 10% return would be around $285,000.
This is an insanely successful business now. Thousands of good trustpilot reviews. Well done Adam! Amazing to see entrepreneurs completely prove the dragons wrong.

I've used a company that has a stand at Heathrow, I think it was/is called Excess Baggage and at first I though they would take your excess baggage there and then but they didn't. On another trip I knew I was way over so I called them, a DHL an picked it up at the house, I tracked it via DHL and DHL delivered it in Vietnam. The time after that I called DHL and got it done cheaper.
His idea is actually really good, especially at the time this occurred, many people didn’t want to go on flights with huge baggage in the plane. But for some people like me, this was never an option so this would have been much cheaper.

The dragons were right. I just had a go on their website; and the prices they charge for a shipment is ridiculously high; multiples compared to other shipment options. Even airline baggage fees are cheaper than what they're charging, which defeats the whole purpose.
This guy was a mess, I understand why the dragons were annoyed. Couldn't answer when challenged, absurd valuation, false narratives, not really doing anything other than connecting postal service to travelers.
Why shout at entrepeneurs? If Deagons do not agree with what Intrepeneurs say, tell them in a decent fashion, or give them positive advice instead. The Dragons' rude demeanour is very upsetting and insulting for us watching the program.
Having a faster path to the big boys is worth a lot more than 2%. Most of the products rely on hype, few can get it at the right time on their own, but most could definitely take advantage of the boost.
Any compny that rides on the back of the staff by not paying them, even if it is yourself, has no future. You can leave the money in the company but wages must be reflected on the books by means of a loan account.
The owner isn't staff. And they can pay themselves via a dividend, rather than a wage. Alternatively, if they have enough money or alternative income to be getting on with, they can not take any money out of the business, to decrease its expenses and help it grow.
