In Space Marine from Xbox 360 he had an unexpected endurance against Chaos energy. I believe here he was just unconscious and the Emperor himself woke up him.
He believes in the codex to the letter and believes anyone who shows resistance to the warp or chaos is a traitor. Which is why he went straight to the inquisition to tell them titus is corrupted by chaos (he was supposed to go through the chapter first but he went past them, which was a major overstep on his part) Plus possible jealousy

Emperor resurrected Guilliman after he got killed by Mortarion so I don't think it's that far fetched to think Emperor resurrected Titus as well.
