    I have just launched an off-season speed skills plan and to celebrate the Paris Olympics it is a whopping 75% off - www.theswimsuitguy.co.uk/product-page/off-season-speed-skills

    You could see the pool is really wavy on TV. Plus the long drive from the athletes village to the pool may be a factor. Agree the broadcast was poor!

    • @TheSwimsuitGuy
      @TheSwimsuitGuy  2 месяца назад +16

      There are queues for the bus to the pools, so many issues behind the scenes but I think the athletes can deal with that. If tonight isn’t better I think the pool has to be the main factor….

    Great recap, thanks Sonny. Wasn't aware of the pool depth issue. I thought FINA rules specified 3m depth for this level of competition.

    • @TheSwimsuitGuy
      @TheSwimsuitGuy  2 месяца назад +1

      It has to be 2 to 3 meters

    • @allydea
      @allydea 2 месяца назад

      Read that 3m is a "recommendation". The rule is >= 2m. But I feel cheated: shallow pool, no running underwater camera. Just not what I expect from the Olympics.

  • @kwatson917
    @kwatson917 2 месяца назад

    I think why the pool is slow because the water is too warm for competition. You notice how red the bodies and faces of the swimmers are. If the water temperature is too warm, your body can't cool down and work efficiently.

    I can only assume the swimmers would know intuitively whether the pool is too long or too short just like a basketball player probably knows if a rim is even an inch above or below 10ft.

      @@allydea the water could be to hot with makes the pool feel sluggish, that makes the swimmers slow. Number two, the pool could be two deep. And there many reasons a pool could be slow you could do some research on it :)
