I have just launched an off-season speed skills plan and to celebrate the Paris Olympics it is a whopping 75% off - www.theswimsuitguy.co.uk/product-page/off-season-speed-skills
There are queues for the bus to the pools, so many issues behind the scenes but I think the athletes can deal with that. If tonight isn’t better I think the pool has to be the main factor….
I think we are should just look to see great races period because that is what it is all about. Fast times will come through racing. Everyone has to deal with the same conditions and can't do anything about it now but race!
Looked like people trying to just make it back on the whole I think You and Brett should be on comms though - depth of knowledge and passion would elevate coverage hugely 🎙️
Correct me if I'm wrong, but when I was watching live, the touchpads was malfunctioning therefore the times were off, perhaps not the fault on the swimmers themselves but don't quote me
Read that 3m is a "recommendation". The rule is >= 2m. But I feel cheated: shallow pool, no running underwater camera. Just not what I expect from the Olympics.
I think why the pool is slow because the water is too warm for competition. You notice how red the bodies and faces of the swimmers are. If the water temperature is too warm, your body can't cool down and work efficiently.
I can only assume the swimmers would know intuitively whether the pool is too long or too short just like a basketball player probably knows if a rim is even an inch above or below 10ft.
The boys went out really fast in the 400 though. Just didn't close as fast. Or was Biederman's WR so back heavy? I'm not familiar with his splits that swim.
@@allydea the water could be to hot with makes the pool feel sluggish, that makes the swimmers slow. Number two, the pool could be two deep. And there many reasons a pool could be slow you could do some research on it :)
@@Gdrve123 Just say you don't have a clue man, don't tell me to "go do research." And btw, deep pools are universally considered to be faster, so it seems you need to be the first to start doing some of that research.
Paris was trying to be cheap, they were cutting costs everywhere they possibly could, with beds, venues and more. Their goal was to be sustainable and affordable for them and in a way it works.
So disappointing……. Three years of excitement and build up for such poor coverage 👎🏽 I’d be interested to hear the rationale for such a cut in pool depth! Despite the above, cannot wait for finals! 🥳

Please remove the dead leaf from the plant
🙈
Makes the plant appear real to us fans😂😂
You could see the pool is really wavy on TV. Plus the long drive from the athletes village to the pool may be a factor. Agree the broadcast was poor!

Love to listen to this while I am editing... Miss you here Sonny!!
Hey Mine!!! I wish I could have come and I hope you have a fabulous time! Your photos are awesome as ever!

OMG you’re so quick with it 😂
I’m full time Paris coverage this week!!!!
Thanks from Italy!
Enjoy finals my man
Looked like people trying to just make it back on the whole I think

Appreciate the kind words, tune into us in 3 hours
Maybe the swimmers watched the olympic opening yesturday night so now they are tired🤷♀️🤣🤣
Hopefully, things will get better
Great recap! ❤ Thank you! I hope we see a brillant night of swimming.
My fingers are crossed for tonight
I was hoping for this to be the meet of the century, crazy times etc. there was so much hype, but we will see in finals 👀
I think everyone was, why this morning felt so flat
Blame the French!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but when I was watching live, the touchpads was malfunctioning therefore the times were off, perhaps not the fault on the swimmers themselves but don't quote me
The displays were messed up but times right
Absolutely agree. So far.... not good!
Eeek
Great recap, thanks Sonny. Wasn't aware of the pool depth issue. I thought FINA rules specified 3m depth for this level of competition.
It has to be 2 to 3 meters
Read that 3m is a "recommendation". The rule is >= 2m. But I feel cheated: shallow pool, no running underwater camera. Just not what I expect from the Olympics.

I’ve been told temp is fine
Dressel was unbelievably slow this morning....he might have did that on purpose I think😂😂
Yes I believe Dressel was playing
any footage??
its prelims man he really doesnt have to try at that moment lol
I’m really worried like I wanna see fast swimming and this morning was not that. Ya hopefully people just doing what they needed.
I need fast swimming man
I can only assume the swimmers would know intuitively whether the pool is too long or too short just like a basketball player probably knows if a rim is even an inch above or below 10ft.
Not if it was 0.1 which would make a big difference
It was the first morning. I think it's gonna get better.
I think so! It surely can’t get worse!
The boys went out really fast in the 400 though. Just didn't close as fast. Or was Biederman's WR so back heavy? I'm not familiar with his splits that swim.
They eased off
@@TheSwimsuitGuy After winning the gold, Martens had a face as if to say: _"WTF is this time?!"_ I think he expected a WR.
That pools probably very very slow, that’s gonna be the whole problem with Paris 2024 😢
If we don’t get a WR tonight then 100% the pool is to blame
What makes a pool slow though? Like a scientific explanation.

The OG shirt looks good, could bring them back?
Yes in higher quality
I genuinely feel let down. I was expecting a lot faster across the board
Let’s hope for better tonight
to recap - this Olympics is a disaster in the making, starting with the ceremony.
What was the ceremony….

Why did Jack Alexy and Chris Giulliano not swim in the 4X100m free for the USA?
Rested for final
Great video
Thanks sir
The pool is so dirty. Rooster doest a bad job.
3rd podium closed
why didnt paris build the pool 3m deep? like imean its the standard for an olympic pool
Seems no logical reasoning
Paris was trying to be cheap, they were cutting costs everywhere they possibly could, with beds, venues and more. Their goal was to be sustainable and affordable for them and in a way it works.
The swimming pool is slow
The swimming pool depth is 2.15m instead of 3m
🎉
The 400 swimmers looked disappointed with their times. Pool is slowwww.
I think there was a few surprised looks sadly
2nd
Still slow?
Probably pool is 51
At least

It’s a Myrtha pool, why have they not made it identical to every other pool they’ve ever made it?! So confused….
