- Season 3, "My Brother, My Executioner." We see Kwai Chiang's confrontation with Curly Bill (Richard Kelton), but watch Curly Bill's flash of bewilderment after missing twice and Forbes' (John Vernon) look of astonishment when Curly Bill goes down. It's the acting that makes this scene so good.
After many decades this episode has stood the test of time!
Many Moons my Son. I like how the China Man bows to the fat confused blacksmith upon returning the plow.
Music composer Jim Helms - one of the very best. Always original and very effective scores for this show.
This was such an awesome show. As a kid I couldnt wait for next week's epidode. Now that I'm older I found much of the Zen philosophy in this show quite profound.
Maybe a little Taoist too ?
This really is one of the most important scenes in the entire franchise.
I remember this episode. Richard Kelton's character was trying to build a reputation as a hot-shot fighter but was beaten by a "chore boy with a plowshare". you are right, Grasshopper ... there was some very good acting in this scene.
"Well that's exactly what he did" John Vernon had a voice so rich and powerful, he occupies a small circle of terrific actors (George Sanders, Michael Jayston, James Earl Jones) who made their roles unforgettable when they used those incredible voices
You forgot Arnold Moss.
One of those great Canadian voice actors who came up through the CBC -- *and the original Iron Man!* He voiced the 1966 cartoons that a lot of Baby Boomers grew up with after school. ruclips.net/video/2zLlPVq6ahM/видео.html
Don't forget Morgan Freeman!
@@tonyginnetti5828 absolutely 😊👍
I'd add Roscoe Lee Browne
I never realized this growing up, when this was one of my favorite shows. It’s amazing how many established actors made guest appearances
Yes.This sequence was memorable. One of the best if not the best of the series.Hats off to John Vernon a great actor.RIP.Of course,David Carradine was of course masterful.May he not be forgotten.
John Vernon was in soooo many movies and TV shows! Always great as the bad guy....very distinctive voice also!
John Vernon played a confederate leader towards the beginning of Outlaw José Wales and never against him at the end either. Chief Dan Joseph makes the movie watchable with humor.
From Canada.
The Voice of Iron Man in the Marvel Superheroes Cartoon.
Never forget those episodes, pure philosophy
Uni Sol a
America's version of Bruce Lee
I was a consistent fan of this great series
Bruce Lee was originally considered for this role and even auditioned for it. Studio politics saw David Carradine take the role. Bruce was pretty upset with how it went down, as the the story goes.
Watched this series religiously in my youth. Found the philosophical parts more interesting than the action. There was a great deal of life wisdom as well as promotion of pacifism that I found intriguing. I bought the DVD's a few years ago and re-watched the whole thing. The list of guest-stars was impressive (some before they became famous.)
Man we enjoyed the choices of tv series in our day. Nice one Caine
Yes indeed and the mysterious music from the East.
Thanks for sharing.
John Vernon is very enigmatic.
The Outlaw Josey Wales.
I really like the little bow at the end……Thank you for lending me your plowshare.
My favorite part is when he snatches gun 2 out of the air and casually tosses it over his shoulder. Genius idea/move.
That, and Caine leaning against the wagon like he hasn't a care in the world.
Never bring a gun to a plowshare fight.🤓
Awesome upload. Remember when it was first broadcasted. Enjoyed the storyline, writing, martial art choreography n especially the acting from main characters to supporting cast. New subscriber because of this upload. Anticipating ur next upload.
Well done Grasshopper
Humble+skill = invincible, you dont ask, you deserved it
Beautiful in it's way.
With no fear. No harm can come your way.
I like Caine's good manners. He bows his thanks to the blacksmith for using his iron shield. Now that is a man worth knowing.
Caine was 😎 cool
Faster than a bullet. When I saw this when it first came out I had no problem believing it.
"Curly Bill, let Cain be. Let ME be."~ John Vernon: The Outlaw Josey Wales.
I understand the hoopla regarding Bruce Lee, "The Warrior" and all that other stuff. Nonetheless, this was a groundbreaking, thought provoking TV series that drew many well known Actors as Guest Stars, and might not have succeeded were it not for the stellar performance by David Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine. 🙂
Favorite scene. Plink! . 🤣
growing up this show was must see. sad the way he died.
Avoiding bullets like the Matrix. Impressive!
This was real. The Matrix is well, the Matrix.
John Vernon as always the good villain.
Aha! so that is where the "A Fistful of Dollars" trick came from....
When it was first aired I loved the fight seems when I was a teen I use to watch it with my grandfather and I got a whole new perspective on the zen philosophy it made sence
Caine didn't even need to bring a knife to the gunfight.
I like how these cowboy dudes after losing their gun revert to the most telegraphed and easy to counter punch in the world and expect it to work. No wonder they need guns, they fight like first graders.
This is the 1st kung fu clip I've seen that allows comments. Why would they prevent fans from discussing such a great show?
fantastic
Capt. Fantastic.
Couple years later Wyatt Earp took care of Curly Bill.
he looks like gene wilder in blazing saddles
That's what I was going to say!
John Vernon should have put Caine on double secret probation.
You can take your thumb out of my ass anytime now Carmine.
And put Neidermeyer on it.
amazing
Hey! Comment are enabled! Excellent! You get a thumbs up for that alone.
The Bible talks about turning plowshares into swords ⚔️ and visa versa .
Isaiah 2:4 - And He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; ; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.
I wish they'd do a remake of this show.
Good one
Kwai Chang Caine is cooler than an Iceberg at the North Pole.
Carradine said 'I'm not a martial artist I'm a dancer'
Before Superman,it was Kwai Chang Caine who could move faster than a speeding bullet.
He wasn't faster than the bullets. He was faster than the man with the gun.
@@RazorStrap No. Caine was faster than a speeding bullet
@@robinrobyn1714 Sorry but no he wasn't. Basically he beat the gunman's draw. like the winner of a gun fight. But rather than shooting quicker he got out of the way quicker than the gunman could shoot.
@@RazorStrap Nope I prefer to believe that Master Po trained Caine well.... therefore... Caine was faster than a speeding bullet
@@robinrobyn1714 No amount of training will make a human faster than a bullet.
I remember when he left the Monastery.
Fletcher. From Josey Wales
Sweet!
I never thought I'd see a day when the plowshare would do all the kung fu.
Sometimes, Grasshopper, when Evil would contend, the plowshare must be the sword. But in the end, it will always be only a plowshare. For it is the Spirit which is the true sword.
And yes, you read this in the voice of Master Po.
@@mikem6176 A man has two weapons: his body, and his spirit. The body, is the arrow; the SPIRIT… is the bow.
Rather heavy handed symbolism but still a cool scene!
Thank you!
Kelton died of asphyxiation in a movie set dressing room due to a faulty heater's improper exhaust piping.
Very sad… terrible.
I remember him on the TV Series Quark.
and of course he bows to the smith...
Porra, ninguém deixava ele em paz, embora ele sempre estivesse em paz !
Double secret probation! Is anyone familiar with that line?
Animal House. That's a totally different show.
So, did Dean Wormer put Caine under double secret probation???
Did I hear "I'm your HuckleBerry" from Caine...=)
Going to have to learn to shoot with his left hand now.
it's not Caine it's Rémo
Gunfighter looked like a 'Playgirl' model.
What kind of crazy talk is that?
😄 🤣 😂
John Vernon plays a reporter doing a story on a fast draw gunfighter. I would be far more impressed with what Caine did.. But Vernon walks away like it was nothing.
Ahh my hand ha haha hahaha haha 😂
cara desvia da bala 😮😊

Что за фильм?
Kung Fu; 1971-1973 TV series starring David Carradine
Remember Caine can walk thrue walls
Yes on Hot Coals as well.
That's dean Faber.
No, it,s Dean Wormer, who ran Faber,
What's ironic is Kung Fu David carradineA man who seemed almost immortal in that role yet sadly he died from the auto Erotic technique
I'm sure they wrote this scene in answer to over two years of people going, "Why doesn't somebody just shoot him?" Too bad the screenwriters don't know anything about the guns they're so much against. In real life, after the first shot into that plowshare Caine wouldn't have any fingertips.
Caine ist ein kämpfender Jesus!
DON'T MESS WITH GRASS HOOPA YOU'LL GET THE DODO BEAT OUT OF YOU HEHEHE GOOD MOVIE DAYS BACK THEN
Este cará luta (KONG FU) ou ele é o capitão América
RUclips should have an option to translate like Facebook. It's the same damn company, isn't it?
Would have been better had Bruce Lee played the part.
1:56 I've seen this type around, always horrible.
That's what I would have done.
i've watched a lot of stupid movies/ tv shows. I've watched 1000s of bad scenes. I rank this as #1
Perhaps your comment should be kept to one's self. What about Kill Bill?
Utterly unrealistic, but cool to watch.
It's real boy. Uttery Fing Real.
macho fantasy
Not really if all is what you saw was on the surface....... westernized thinking has no in depth perception and understanding of anything........ that's why most of you think these things are "hocus pocus", especially now in this age of simpletons..........
Buddhist priest
Like Jesus or rather Yeshua.
Good job of the screenwriters proving they don't know anything about the firearms they hate. That also goes for the gullible people in this comment section that are impressed by this scene.
Christ, I hated this show. Wow! Nobody knew how to fight except Chinese Priests. Really? REALLY? How stupid of a show could you make? They practiced (and were really good). Guys in the Old West fought for their lives.
really? you going to compare cowboy tomfoolery with a master monk that trained since he was a child?
How to say "I don't understand the martial arts" without actually saying it. 🙄😄😎
Be silent and return to though grandmother's dirty basement.
may have been good in it's day - now, just a sad, lame show.
It's not lame cause some POS didn't make a video game out of it? Let us know?
