My daughter has a bed time story book that has this story in it. It's a wonderful story that teaches different lesson depending on your age. The lesson it teaches small children is never give up on making friends and showing people you are on the inside by the length Blue went to to befriend the humans, as a teen it teaches you that you should aid your friends and support them in their endeavors as shown by Red when he helps Blue with his plans, and lastly as adults it teaches us to be mindful of our actions and the lasting impact they can have on the people around and our friends, as show by the fake fight Red and Blue have at the end. Blue didn't stop to think about what would happen to Red afterwards and Red is just as bad be he never told Blue what he planned to do afterwards. Sorry long post I just love this folktale.

I disagree on the other monsters have her be the only monster girl interested in but have him and her have other non-human friends. For example you get to hang out with a Minotaur who helps him with his workout routine you know integrate monsters into society as if they're just an everyday occurrence.

Whether alone or in public, Kirika responds to the slightest hint of affection from Billy with verbal abuse and threats of violence. Kirika might really love him, but she doesn't show it to him at all. From Billy's perspective, he's trapped in a toxic, abusive relationship that could quickly become violent.
Billy's a batted wife in the making, but everyone (author included, most likely) is too busy gushing about how 'cute' Kirika is to think about it.

Yup, confirmed, I'm not into tsunderes at all.
I have no idea why guys here sees this as adorable, the simple idea of a gal being overly aggressive on the outside to hide her feelings, while at the same time trying to pursue her love, always was annoying to me. More when there's abuse involved, be it verbal or physical.
But here, the intimidation tactics that are absolutely not normal in a relationship, the coldness, the emotional neglect and the absolutely lack of understanding of each other... It just sounds and looks like such an awful relationship gimmick to me.
I would rather actually swallow human sh*t than to be in this kind of relationship (Sorry for the gross example).
Maybe I'm just going overboard for a fictitious relationship, and this is just me being too sensitive, but I honestly needed to take the annoying feeling out of my chest xd
