Hi Jen! It sounds like you are doing everything correct. You may want to reach out to Silhouette customer support to make sure there isn't an issue with the blade
Awesome project! I'm trying to replicate it, but found my Chomas blade stops before reaching the acrylic blank like there's not enough clearance. I tried slipping the blank under the area between the two pen slots and it fits. The Chomas blade, however, looks like it is 1mm too low. Do the blanks have to be less than 3mm? This one is 0.12 inches (which = 3.048mm). Am I supposed to be adjusting the rollers or anything else?
Hey Kristin! Yes, I would recommend a 2mm acrylic for etching. Your Cameo 4 can accommodate up to 3mm, but I have noticed issues like this when trying to use the thicker acrylic. I have only found 2mm acrylic at Craft Chameleon, but since I get all my acrylic from there anyways, it works well for me LOL. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Came out great! If you wanted to export the design for engraving in Cricut, what format would you save it as... SVG, PNG, JPEG or does it matter? Thank you!
Hey Donna! You would want to export the SVG. I hope to have a video for you soon because alignment is a little more difficult for the Cricut because it auto-aligns the designs in the corner. But feel free to experiment if you are more experienced to know how to do this (sounds like you are!). ---Becky
I have the Silhouette Curio and was always taught use the emboss/deboss panel for etching. I actually only used the Line Effects for the first time in a long time to get to the marker sketching two days ago! I was wondering then which one should I be using when I noticed it said for sketching or etching projects at the top! The emboss/deboss panel only has 4 effects, I think the scribble effect would be good to have on some parts of my acrylic etching projects. I double crosshatch all my acrylic etching with one at an angle since I like it super white to show up even better, especially on Christmas ornaments and other acrylics that will NOT be lighted. I think it looks even nicer on the LED acrylics AND they show up well even when the LED base is off. I actually have two copies of the design with one copy crosshatching at an angle and change the color on one so it is easier to line up. I do use enable smart snapping to get them to line up perfectly and group them together to make sure they STAY together. I do zoom WAY in to make sure they are perfectly lined up. I'm so glad I watched this video, I thought RELEASE EFFECTS was the opposite of what it was... :) ANd learning I can use the Sketching panel for etching too! Your other videos have me thinking about saving up for an Epson that will allow me to use Sublimation inks... Oh well, I already have two heat presses, lots of shirts, some of which can be used without sublimating on my white glitter HTV. You are a bad enabler! :)

Tried etching a 2 mm acrylic round and it would not go under the blade carriage. Your's seemed to go under it fine but mine won't go under the center of the double blade carriage. Is there a way to get this to go through and cut? Any help would be appreciated
Hey Yoli, I would try to adjust your etching blade up just a tad in the blade holder, that should stop it from dragging on your acrylic. Each machine will be a little different, so this is just a side-effect of that. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Hey Carmela! Without looking at it, I'm not sure why that wouldn't work. What you can do is put your acrylic on your cutting mat, then follow a method like I show for creating templates in a different video. I'll link it here for you to watch, I think it should help in this situation also, just make sure you create an offset around your design so you an still use it with the adhesive vinyl to hold the acrylic in place. Hope this helps! ---Becky ruclips.net/video/lLzjbKqa_go/видео.html
Hey Abigail, the Cameo 3 can accommodate 3mm acrylic, but each machine is a little different and some crafters have reported the 3mm being slightly too thick. So I would stick with the 2mm or switch to a Curio. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I'm using Cameo 4, but when i send the designs to sketch - it seems to leave out parts of my design. They're totally not etched at all, but those parts could be in the middle of the entire design and not thin at all. It also seems like I can't cut one entire design in one go, as it'll stop less then 5 mins into etching, and not even half way done. I'll have to split the etching process into multiple parts just to get one full design. Have you faced any of these problems?
Hey Krys, have you tried connecting your Cameo with the USB cord? Sometimes my Cameo 4 will seem to time-out, even saying it's complete, but then it will resume if I give it a minute. I figured it was a hiccup in the bluetooth communication. If this isn't it, I would probably reach out to Silhouette America's support team in case it is a technical issue. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Aura, I purchased this light base and acrylic set at Craft Chameleon. Hope this helps! ---Becky www.craftchameleon.com/search?type=product&q=light+base
I etched a nightlight on my Cameo 4. It did a great job except it leaves scratches when it moves from one area to another. I can't raise the blade like you can on a Cameo 3 because it has to be in the special pen holder. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?
Hey Debbie! So I think what I would do is try to raise it a little before locking the holder in. You should have a little bit of wiggle room, just a little, and that slight change in depth may solve your problem. Also, make sure you are using the 2mm acrylic instead of the 3mm, that will help. Let me know how it turns out!! Hope this helps! ---Becky
Great question and you sure can. You'll want to experiment a little with tracing the photos because you can create awesome 3D effects for shading. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Not sure you will see this. Love all your videos. Don’t understand the “no cut” process. I usually change the line colors, use the line option, choose the line color and deselect the line colors I don’t want and I can cut individual pieces but clearly I can learn a better process. Can you explain better
Hey Pamela! If you are already using the Cut by Color (line) option, then you are ahead of the game! The Cut/No Cut is available at all levels, whereas Cut by Color (fill or line) is an upgrade feature. But if that is what you are comfortable with, I think that process will be more efficient for you! Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Mercedez, I think a lot depends on how tight the etching design is. I try not to tighten the lines down too far so that it doesn't take longer than needed. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Hey Donza, I purchase them with the acrylic shapes from Craft Chameleon. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Bonjour quel est votre lame pour la gravure ? Svp merci car j’ai une caméo4 et je ne trouve pas de lame pour la machine
Which blade did you use...the one I found does not fit in my holder.
Hi Connie! Which machine are you using? Not all blades are compatible with every machine. I've learned the hard way by ordering the wrong blade! - Dawn
Hi Becky!
Where can I buy the blade for this?
You can find it on Amazon!
What is the name of the etching blade...I need one asap...
Hi Jem! It's this one www.amazon.com/Etching-Tool-Engraving-Silhouette-Creations/dp/B01AHFK7EG/ref=asc_df_B01AHFK7EG/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167143402695&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15665554251258992609&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9059139&hvtargid=pla-310280341577&psc=1

Can this etch quill be used to engrave acrylic
Hey there! This etching is as deep of an effect you can get with a Cameo, for true engraving you would need a laser. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Can silhouette potrait 2 did the same?
I do not believe that the portrait can unfortunately.

Can the Silhouette Cameo 4 handle 4mm Acrylic?
Hey Tom, it looks like 3mm is the maximum height for the Cameo 4. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I have a cameo 3 would this work on that?
Hey Stacy! This sure does work on the Cameo 3 as long as you use a material that will fit under the roller bar. Hope this helps! ---Becky
What blade
hello i tried to make the shape of my plexiglass i put the measurements on cameo 4 silhouette but she cut it smaller. can you tell me why?
Hey Carmela! Without looking at it, I'm not sure why that wouldn't work. What you can do is put your acrylic on your cutting mat, then follow a method like I show for creating templates in a different video. I'll link it here for you to watch, I think it should help in this situation also, just make sure you create an offset around your design so you an still use it with the adhesive vinyl to hold the acrylic in place. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Can cameo 4 etch a 3mm thick acrylic?
Hey Abigail, the Cameo 3 can accommodate 3mm acrylic, but each machine is a little different and some crafters have reported the 3mm being slightly too thick. So I would stick with the 2mm or switch to a Curio. Hope this helps! ---Becky
@@DesignBundleswow thank you so id rather choose curio
---Becky
where to get that lamp set

Has anyone tried this for drypoint printing?
Hi Jerry! We haven't tried this yet on the acrylic! -Dawn
I etched a nightlight on my Cameo 4. It did a great job except it leaves scratches when it moves from one area to another. I can't raise the blade like you can on a Cameo 3 because it has to be in the special pen holder. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?
I tried to post a picture to show you but I can't figure out how to do that.
---Becky
better to use vacuum cleaner to clean the debris
Cool, can you do photos??
Great question and you sure can. You'll want to experiment a little with tracing the photos because you can create awesome 3D effects for shading. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hi dear could u please help me to buy this blade am from india

Just FYI the Curio has been discontinued
That is good to know, thank you.
you never explained how to set the thickness of the stock on either videos???
---Becky
Took 25 minutes? Wow it took 4 hours on the explore air 2 on a video I seen
Hey Mercedez, I think a lot depends on how tight the etching design is. I try not to tighten the lines down too far so that it doesn't take longer than needed. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Omg thank you
No problem glad I could help 🤗
