- In this video we start diving into and fixing up a 2001 Porsche Boxster, the 986 generation. My dad purchased this car in 2004 off of a lease and has had it ever since. it's only accumulated around 50,000 miles in the last 20 years and mechanically it is in great shape. it just needs a little TLC to return it to its former glory!

The other nice thing about the original boxsters, 97-99, is they don't have the IMS issues because they use a dual row bearing!

For the plastic, like the red seat belt clip and cowlings, try a heat gun, there are lots of "restore plastic heat gun" videos, works really well.
