If it's a livestream about something like cryptocurrency, then that means it's a hacker. You can't even interact because if subscriber-only mode in the chat. All you can do is comment on the channel's community posts and the original owner's social media posts and tell them that their channel has been hacked. These hackers are a sign of how far downhill RUclips's security has gone.

This has been happening to a lot of youtube accounts. Linus Tech Tips did a video on how his account was hacked the same way yours was. I know it's hard to deal with but I am very glad that you got your channel back! I've been a fan for years and it would be horrible to see all your work washed away.
@@ZaleAnderson yeah unfortunately it was the bigger one but I think if she gets through the right contact she will get it back! It’s about knowing someone (an actual human) in YT support, which can be tricky. But with enough persistence I think she will be okay!
a bigger issue with google accounts is how many times their password info base gets leaked in a month, you have to occasionally change your passwords just to dodge the leaked passwords, I hope everything gets sorted out and you get your channel back

I also saw the livestream and was confused first, but when they showed a picture of a fake tweet and sending messages about doubling bitcoin i know it was clearly a scam. The many videos on this channel recently are very nice by the way :)
It's a horrible thing to happen and has unfortunately happened to a lot of people recently. If it helps in any way, like someone has already said, the live stream numbers were most likely bots, something that I noticed during Sarah Close's hacked livestream. I wouldn't feel bad about being a victim of this as this has been going on for a few weeks now and has hit some of the more tech savvy youtubers as well. In regards to what you were saying about your other things like bank etc, as far as I am aware, the session exploit is something specific to Google/RUclips and your other accounts should all be safe :) You said about a security key, you can actually get something called a Yubikey or similar that requires you to have it physically plugged into your computer or using nfc on your phone etc to be able to log into your Google account, however, these things wouldn't have even prevented this exploit from happening and still have some flaws such as some websites allowing you to log in a different way (for example 2FA).

this has happened to SO many people i followed. for a year or so i kept seing these livestreams, it breaks my heart because it means someone i subscribed to just lost their channel and it is very hard to guess who it was. in your case tho, it just happened that youtube kind of bugged out and i could still see your channel name and i went straight to your instagram

Speaking of Google's products, Google froze my account last year, and I had to verify my account by sending photo of my driving licence (or some kind of ID was needed) and copy of my bank account. They needed to know that I'm adult to pay of RUclips Premium or something 😀That was wild and wasn't even hacker!!
Literally when I saw the notification with “Alice” and “Elon musk”🤢 in the same sentence i knew she was hacked lmaoooo So glad it’s finally getting resolved tho❤️
This happened to Meghan Reinks and she had to jump through a lot of hoops but was able to get her account back! It came down to having an actual contact at RUclips. Persistence and luck will be on your side, I know it ❤ I’m so sorry this happened and maybe reach out to Meghan for her contact!!

It's a common hack, LinusTechTips suffered from the same hack a week or two ago :/ Do not blame yslf too much, if even a company with regulated accesses can be hacked, the fault is on the ytb side... Hope yr channel will be back soon :)
If nothing else, I guess this is a warning to backup all your old videos because it would have been real sad if all those old videos were permanently deleted forever. Do you have backups of all that stuff?
I know this is a harsh thing to say because of recent events, but if you didn’t have a good experience with the thing you’re supposed to promote for sponsorship, why did you continue to try to use/ promote it?
i never had the chance to even check out the software they wanted a sponsorship for because they claimed it wasn't finished. if i had gotten that far and saw the program and it sucked i wouldn't have done the sponsorship - no contracts were in place - i had literally just emailed a couple times and was trying to download this sample library that never really existed i get the sentiment but i'm not exactly known to accept any sponsorships that are sus... as evidenced by how many I've done (like less than 10 in a 13 year career on youtube
This could happen to anyone. They abuse people’s trust in strangers which is so horrible. Of course I grew up in China so I automatically suspect everyone but that just goes to show how traumatized we were by scammers and con artists

I saw it and immediately went to your socials to give the little information i know on it (a spanish youtuber had it happen to him as well and made a video about it) but people had already commented about the Linus thing which was much more recent info so I didn't post anything, i checked the playlists in the channel and clicking in older videos it does say "they've been made private" so that's a good thing. In case somehow they deleted them, this Spanish youtuber actually got the videos deleted so he had to reupload them (he color coded them with a green emoji dot to signify that it's a reupload) so you could always do that as well. also, what "brand" was it? im curious if they're like, spoofing a real brand of something, or if it's just a made up brand entirely for the scam
Just here to say that I love your minimalist approach with your videos. I’m quite a lonely person, I suck at making and keeping friends… and so I spend a lot of time listening to audio books or RUclips videos while I’m doing things around the house or out and about. Your videos feel like I’m listening to a close friend about their day, it’s so calming!
the worst thing is that they changed the name of the channel so if I hadn't seen your instagram stories I wouldn't have known it was your channel and would've unsubscribed right away :/ (also because it was a livestream it appeared first on the subscription box)
I think Seth Everman had a similar experience from hackers but managed to stop it before downloading the file. It seems like a common process to hack big channels through sponsors nowadays

I saw the streaming of your channel yesterday and I was already waiting for something like this. the openIA channel was also hacked using the same format. other channels were hacked in the same way too. They show Elon Musk live so that in a moment you can donate bitcoins to a random account or something like that.
