Great video, amazing tip. For me, who lives in a country without a decent hobby store tips like this help me a lot because all my supplies must be imported. Thank you!
Excellent video!!! Very informative. I definitely learned a thing or two. I'll definitely be watching this video again! I would have never thought about using chalk pastels. I'm definitely a novice in the modeling world. Thank you for broadening my modeling knowledge!
I had issues before with pigments losing their vibrance or completely get blown off when applying a clearcoat, I wanted to have a dusty look and did not want to mix the pigment with another medium. So in the end I resorted to applying the pigment dust directly onto the drying clearcoat. Worked for me but it may not be the effect that everybody want, any other tips to get use pigment?
@@MannsModelMoments sorry i typed that when i was half asleep ,i was asking if you had or planned to make a video detailing simple fading techniques for planes like the corsair

Great video, Alex! I just discovered your channel today and immediately subbed. Pastels are my favourite source of pigments, too.
Thanks Ray, appreciate it!
Just subscribed to your channel. I’m looking forward to seeing more tips and tricks like this. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thanks for the sub!
You could also use makeup pallettes, which you can find quite cheap too. A matt medium will probably work as a combination solution and fixative too.
I really enjoy the music you use in your videos. Where can find it? Thank you!
It's actually from RUclips's music studio
Great video mate. Do clear over the top cheers Graham
Yep!
Are you able to then clear coat over it to seal in the effect or you need to clear before and then apply them and leaving it as is.
You can clear coat afterwards - I always do to speak then in place

There are products (or you can use diluted PVA) to fic the pigment in place before clear coating
Simple fading ?
Not sure what you're asking?

I hadn't, but it's a great idea - I have a 48th Corsair in the stash, as well as several Zeros so will note that one down 😀
