Tropics Update: Hurricane Kirk strengthens in the Atlantic, eyes on something in the Caribbean

Hurricane Kirk is looking quite healthy late Tuesday and the National Hurricane Center believes Kirk will become a major hurricane, that's a Category 3 or higher storm, over the next couple of days. The good news is the system is forecast to turn to the north and the current forecast track poses no threat to land. Of a little more concern, closer to home, is a wave in the Caribbean with a 40% chance of development over the coming week. It could possibly organize in the western Caribbean or potentially work into the Gulf of Mexico.
