- Still over the moon from last night’s performance of Brahms 1 with the New World Symphony. Can’t wait to do it again this afternoon and hopefully many more times in my career :)

One of the single greatest entries in the classical canon, played superbly. Bravo that man!
Absolutely lovely, Scott!
Thank you!
This horn section, the way it enters! My God in Heaven! And then the flute following it... Goosebumps always! Gunter Wand's rendition! ❤️❤️
Beautiful playing, Scott!
Thank you!
I will always be jealous of your sound and consistency. Amazing!
How is twah twah consistent
The most moving moment in this masterpiece!
Amazing! And under the baton of my dear friend Christian Reif! That must’ve been so cool!
My dad played this once at DSO brings back good memories :)
Bravo!!
Very nice
Played that for my first year conducting exam, happy to say I passed!
Minha sinfonia favorita do meu compositor preferido
This symphony isn’t performed enough today.
Bravo!!😊👏& very good team with 2nd!!👍😃
Bravoooo
The funny thing is I’m a French horn player and I’ve watched your vids for a while and today we got our new music for Tulsa youth symphony and we’re playing this same song! I love this song. Great playing as well Scott!
Just a small correction. When you refer to music on this scale, you call it a piece/pieces. This kind of music is much more complex than a song

Very Nice! On an unrelated note do you happen to know if we need to play scales for TMEA?
Thank you! Uh if I remember from my time in high school it was up to the region director, so you’ll have to ask your band director because it could change depending on where you live
Thanks
I played this in my youth symphony. I am a trumpet player. I had the flute solo. Idk why
Top worst mixes 😂
Where's the 2nd horn??
Genuinely curious, if you did this again would you prefer a double over a triple?
That would depend on the double, no? I play on this triple in particular because it is the best horn I’ve encountered of any variety for the kind of playing I like to do.
How did you get your full sound that is needed for Brahms?
For playing on F Horn you would have to transpose down a fourth, is that right?
Wait, you are playing an octave under right?
Yes. Horn in C basso sounds an octave lower than written
Thank you
Brahms' 20 years of effort is not rewarded if you do not hear from the timpani at the beginning of the first movement.
