  • Still over the moon from last night’s performance of Brahms 1 with the New World Symphony. Can’t wait to do it again this afternoon and hopefully many more times in my career :)

    One of the single greatest entries in the classical canon, played superbly. Bravo that man!

    This horn section, the way it enters! My God in Heaven! And then the flute following it... Goosebumps always! Gunter Wand's rendition! ❤️❤️

    The funny thing is I’m a French horn player and I’ve watched your vids for a while and today we got our new music for Tulsa youth symphony and we’re playing this same song! I love this song. Great playing as well Scott!

      Just a small correction. When you refer to music on this scale, you call it a piece/pieces. This kind of music is much more complex than a song

    Very Nice! On an unrelated note do you happen to know if we need to play scales for TMEA?

      Thank you! Uh if I remember from my time in high school it was up to the region director, so you’ll have to ask your band director because it could change depending on where you live

    Where's the 2nd horn??

    Genuinely curious, if you did this again would you prefer a double over a triple?

    • @ScottLegerHorn
      @ScottLegerHorn  Год назад

      That would depend on the double, no? I play on this triple in particular because it is the best horn I’ve encountered of any variety for the kind of playing I like to do.

    How did you get your full sound that is needed for Brahms?

  • @Frick-bv6xt
    @Frick-bv6xt Год назад

    For playing on F Horn you would have to transpose down a fourth, is that right?

  • @pandabuyguy123
    @pandabuyguy123 Год назад

    Wait, you are playing an octave under right?

    Brahms' 20 years of effort is not rewarded if you do not hear from the timpani at the beginning of the first movement.
