Wow, very nice track indeed. Especially exiting the last part along the coast, was that the west coast? I have been also this summer, at the end of August, but unfortunately only 10 days. But with hired cars, for us it would be too far with our own cars. We drove through the Highlands and the volcanic areas, and shortly along the east coast. The landscapes are breathtaking, took a lot of photos. Thanks for sharing your expedition, I'll go now and see the 2nd part.
Thanks! Yes, that track is in the westfjords, North-west coast. The road is called F622. Awsome place, just like rest of Iceland! 😊 Cool! Im for sure going back!
@@thorsteinovern4575, also I would like to go back, to see the North-West coast. If you like, you can see where I've been: that is the other side: ruclips.net/video/rpHVeGtCndw/видео.html From which country are you, Norway?
I am planing to do the next is the covid allow it. Now I am alone and I don't have another partner for the trip. Is better to do in group. For rescuing, helping, mechanics and many things...... If you are interested, write me.... I have many things ready like the Ferry schedule, price, I have sat phone ,radios, fridge/freezer, and preparing my car.
That's a pretty Eric trip you made, can you tell me where I can find These Bunkers? Cause I am planning my route through Iceland an need a few more stops, would be great
Hazardbone Haha, no comment on the Jeep part there 😅 But he was really unlucky! If you’re thinking about the river crossing, the prado was holding it down the hill to the river, since the GC couldnt run the engine. So almost no brakes. The one that was on the truck was not one of us 😊
Arrynek01 We all had breathers, but the seal on the filling/measurement tube was destroyed after a gearbox change before the trip. So the water got in that way. 😅
...and this is why I am a little scared of river/ water crossings with my LC 150. Ok, Toyota says that the limit for a stock LC is 70 cm of water depth but still.... if water gets in to the gearbox (automatic) or the diffs the roadtrip could be over. Not cheap to fix either....
Morgajev Jevgenij Thanks! We arrived at Iceland 18th of july and left 8th of august. I did not record a route, not sure if anyone else in the group did. Ill check it up 👍🏻
@@doddsalfa at this plateau we saw tracks all over the place so we didnt think that was an issue. We did encounter ranger over at Vatnajökull national park witch told us more regarding the rules, and if the there is a spot that is obviously ment for parking along side of a track its legal to drive off the track and park the car alongside the track. Witch in this case we made an conclusion that it was ok. If thats not the case, we’re sorry. We would never intend to go off the track and drive illegal.
Fantastic! Simply amazing! Congrats for the adventure. Already in my bucket list.
Nice movie and some epic views Thorstein

Water in the gearbox? Did you guys not elevate breathers, or was it a manual and he shifted while fording?
Arrynek01 We all had breathers, but the seal on the filling/measurement tube was destroyed after a gearbox change before the trip. So the water got in that way. 😅
