Very nice set, and quite unique! I wonder if you can add and mount a variable cap on the back somewhere to add fine tuning. I like when you show the dogs as well, they seem to like it as well!
Bob your so lucky great find and sure can't wait to see it restored nice set. Very exciting news and been waiting daily for more videos. My favorite channel. So happy this evening. thanks Mike
I have seen a couple of these and thought the styling was interesting and a touch quirky but likeable. Looks like it will be a really interesting chassis to restore.
Interesting! I didn't realize they sold the sets without fine tuning. How long into production did that last before they realized their mistake and started offering that kit?
I show the insides in the video. I do not see any signs of damage from being power up. It had been in the previous owners family for quite a few years and never power up as it had a bust picture tube. He bought a replacement but never got around to working on it.
Bob, cute little TV with Philco's design slant, I will be interested to see the circuit restoration when you get around to it.

Glad I stayed to the end!
Cant wait to see your 48-1000 work again.
Me too. Might as well do them at the same time. Will be interesting to compare them
Boy you have a nice house...
Wow!

The temptation is to restore it and put it back on his porch with a bow on it and a gift note to his wife.
Were Howard W. Sams Photofacts available back then?
Yes. Sam's covered just about every post war TV
That one is in great physical condition. I haven't seen the insides yet and how much it got molested with 120VAC 😅
