with the current meta of the game, it is always worth keeping 3-4 tech trash in order to make holo sights. aswell as this blades offer so little when recycled and are used in multiple important crafting recipes so ide say its always worth keeping those. Apart from that this is a really good guide. Keep it up Jfarr.
Thank you and I completely agree. I recommended in the video that with pretty much every component you should always have a backup reserve just incase you want to craft something later or if it can craft something that fits your playstyle.
I don't think you should hoard components until you actually need them. Sewing kits are much more valuable in cloth when you roam with a crossbow than to wait until you get a tier 2 and then make roadsign armor out of it. The same applies to rifle bodies, metal springs and such.
I feel like smg body should be in S tier because it can only be found in military crates and above and with mp5 in the meta and tommys being one of the best t2 guns it makes it more important

one of the best way for prim kit players to get comps is for sure just getting a boat for a cheap 125 scrap from fishing village and breaking barrels in the water
Idk if any1 said that but if ur ever in need of cloth or rope u can buy tactical gloves from outpost (40 scrap) which recycles into 5sewing kits into rope/cloth
I usually keep my tech trash. It’s useful and kinda rare to find by itself. The best things I think is to recycle metal pipes and road signs, and sell extra green cards!
Another tip, sort your inv before you get to the recycler or box so that you can quickly hover-loot the row and get the recycler going (or loot stored). Never spend the time manually moving each individual piece. Speed is life in Rust so spending 10s standing at the recycler vs 1-2s is an eternity of waiting for the headshot to come.
ALWAYS save gears. The rest, just kill other people and take their guns, recycle the rest for scrap. If you always have a little nest-egg at base of all the different components, you'll be fine, you can recycle everything else. MId game, start saving Blades if you are building a meta base, because holy moly will you ever need them. Also, I don't think sheet metal deserves D tier, the only D tier is propane tanks, sheet metal yields a lot of metal per use
Very late on the topic, but i want to give a simple tip, what i did in my current wipe is learn almost every blueprint that was important to me, and then use the scrap to buy especially sheet metals at the outpost, because it’s the best in terms of income, with 600 scrap u buy 19 of these, and by recycling them u get 19 high qual, 2k fragments and 150 scrap, so it’s totally worth it
Underwater labs is planned to be the next video. Was waiting for the next content patch to release, making sure nothing drastic changes so the video doesn't become irrelevant so quickly.
I did say the "Never" section / all components can be recycled when you have an abundance of it or don't need to use it. It really just means you should always have some lying around (Maybe 10 stored away and the rest recycle).
On console rust if you stack targeting computers while you recycle you only get 5 tech trash for 2 computers but get 3 each if you separate them into single targeting computers while recycling. Is that still a thing in pc rust? Same concept with sewing kits. You get more rope if you separate them so getting more cloth for early game.
What I will say to everyone is always recycle rifle bodies, they give back lots of HQM and crafting an AK is a waste in my opinion. The goal is to get an AK from raiding, PVP or even oil rig. Don’t craft them, it’s wasteful and too much of a risk for losing HQM. If you have lots of HQM though go crazy.
I would recommend at least having a certain amount saved up but any excess continue to recycle. Never know when you need to craft an emergency gun or two for mates.
Early game I scrap everything that won’t help me immediately, bears, rifle bodies and any high tech comps are getting recycled, even hazmats because I’d rather have the protection from burlap and also camo helps sometimes so browns over neon yellow and red with some blue
I usually have tons of spare HQM from recycling road signs and pipes when I go on scrap runs, and I never find enough rifle bodies for it to be worth recycling anyways. I always wonder how people get so many of certain rare components like rifle bodies in the first place
I most often recycle everything cause i just want scarp to actually get some fucking progress for once. trying my best to play and get better but it's haaaaaaard ~w~
had no idea you could craft comps at a workbench by researching them first... I've been sitting on thousands of scrap and zero gears lmao. Especially the metal blades when I want a ton to make metal barricades around my base but cant find any
So a few things if you come across the highest tier components dead early in the game is it best just to recycle it for the scrap at that point and how do you harvest a road sign
Yeah recycling early is a great option to quickly get scrap for things like a workbench. Any tool can destroy a road sign for its components but if you are on console, I don't think you can harvest road signs as it was more recently added to PC.
The underwater labs video guide will be my next. Currently I'm only uploading every two weeks and my previous video is only 2 days old. I was also waiting to upload it this month to see if there is any changes that might come with the October update. However, the October update hasn't even released yet. Therefore, it will still take another week and a bit before the video is up.
Apologies. If you would like to view each component in more detail along with its spawn locations I would recommend using rustlabs.com/ to search for your specific component.
I highly value sheet metal, computers and cctv if your rusting you need to make every base a complete nightmare to get through even when your offline 💀☠️ 🤪
I really like this game like this is my favourite game now but the thing is its ultra laggy for me I can only build now. PVP my system will run for its life. i only have 8gb ram and plays on a HDD. Guys if you are planning to play this game at least have 16 GB of ram and definetly an SSD else you will REGRET it. I need to wait 40 - 45 Minutes to load in to the game.
Couldn't agree more. Rust chews through RAM and is especially slow on a hard drive. Nothing worse than having to wait for the game to load while you are getting raided.
@@JfarrYT Id say SSD has been a standard for some years now, any decent computer from 2018+ should have it. However wtf did they do to rust this last year that 32gb ram is now almost mandatory?
