Hey! Yes super easy to change the battery. The Speedglas is a bit more robust but more expensive to own. We think you are getting a great value with the savage.
I can confirm, they are a really good mask, done maybe 10-15 hours of welding with it and it is great. For reference I worked at a building solutions place using a speedglas 9100V FX Adflo Air Fed mask, and i dont like to deal with dodgy brands. Its a good mask regardless of the price point in my opinion.
The Speedglas 9100 is 3M? Personally always liked the sentinel A50 and Speedglas 9100 that’s all my work uses. Both of em are pretty decent in my opinion!
The Viking series has a lot of complaints of it failing, and not working properly. I could not find anyone speaking about "failures" of the electrical circuitry on the ESAB helmets. Also, the A40 is the best looking helmet they make today, because it's not ugly "glossy" black. It's satin black. Nobody likes glossy black anymore, it's not in style, so I can't understand why welding helmets are "gloss black." You can barely even find a gloss black motorcycle anymore, they are mostly all matte or satin black.
Just a little under a year ago , had to turn my old Sentinel A50 in to my boss because I sweated so damn much and it all got down in the electronics Bc I wouldn’t stop a weld to wipe sweat ended up being glitchy as hell
New to weldng, so not sure, but after a few hours welding, I feel sunburnt on my face, its set to about 11, long delay, is this normal to feel sunburnt?
It’s SO CLEAR that you may as well just weld with clear safety glasses. 😂 everyone is different but man when I had my Esab I would see spots for days after welding with it. It’s so bad for you eyes. Even shade 13 was way to light for me. Comfortable helmet though. I now weld with 3m 9100 now and would never go back.
You didn't seem as impressed as you did with the Optrel Crystal!! Lol, just giving you a hard time bud, I know, apple's to oranges!! Seriously tho, I'll never forget your reaction when you demo'd that Crystal, still on my"want list"!!

Yes it has the true color technology in the helmet, the same as in the Sentinel. 1/1/1/2 clarity rating, four sensors, and the external grind button. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Every welding hood is made for all processes. The only probs you’ll run into a lot of hoods are not overhead rated. Typically with miller. But ESABs hoods are great for everything including overhead. Hope this helps
