    I have the 4 season One Tigris underquilt and use it with my 11 ft hammock. I’ve gotten down to 14°f with a closed cell pad under me and the UQ and 24°f with just the UQ. I did use a 0°f sleeping bag with it as well. I guess I should try testing the UQ with a less beefy sleeping bag to see how well it works.
    I’m thinking of getting the 3 season version.
    I’ve taken it on the AT. My only issue was how big it is when packed up. But I was warm.
    I’ve also used it as a blanket inside a tent so double duty.

    Hale Michigan we have a family cabin on Long Lake right by Oscoda like the videos definitely need to get outside and learn

      Ed's Auto Help & More you should hit up the MI bushcraft spring gathering, there will be a lot to learn about and it’s right down the road from Hale

    dont fold the underquilt, just stuff it, because u destroy the filling over time.

      That actually makes a ton of sense! Thanks!

      Actually it doesn't because stuffing it does more damage

    how is this underquilt comfort wise?

    • @FDOutdoors
      @FDOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      It doesn’t really give to physical comfort it hangs beneath the bag with air between you and it, but it kept me warm within specifications

    Huh. The temp rating they give should be WITHOUT a sleeping bag, right?

      Think of it more as a temp rating on a sleeping pad.
      Even if the pad is rated to 0°c you will freeze without a blanket

      What James said, or the temp rating for your bottom side only!

      Maybe you've heard this already but using a sitting pad and or your backpack for your feet helps.
