  • On August 31, 2024, the Bantayan Sa Hari Cebu Elite Eagles Club The Fraternal Order of Eagles - Philippine Eagles took a significant step towards marine conservation with the assembly of a low-profile modular artificial reef structure, known as MARS Modular Artificial Reef Structure , as part of their ADOPT A REEF program. This initiative, dubbed #BLUETHUMB Blue Thumb , is a crucial reef rehabilitation project located in Barangay GAWI , Oslob Cebu. The team showcased remarkable skill and strength during the assembly process, especially after successfully erecting the medium-profile reef structure, which was the highlight of the event.
As the day unfolded, the atmosphere brimmed with excitement and anticipation. Volunteers worked seamlessly, maneuvering the modular components into place, demonstrating not only their physical prowess but also their dedication to preserving marine life. Once the low-profile structure was securely in place, the team took the crucial next step: planting coral fragments around the reef. This act was not only a celebration of their hard work but also a strategic move to enhance the new structure and promote habitat growth.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the excitement reached its peak. Videos captured the first glimpses of fish exploring their new abode, showcasing the immediate impact of their efforts. The low-profile artificial reef, combined with the newly planted corals, serves as a promising sanctuary for marine life and a testament to the community's commitment to ocean conservation. With the successful assembly of the MARS, the Eagles Fraternal Brotherhood sets a wonderful precedent for future initiatives in the region, ensuring a thriving underwater ecosystem for generations to come.
