Lamont, a lot of people don’t understand what it means to have a channel you like, enjoy and is interesting. I am a person that does not get out very much. I cannot travel. I miss doing things I use to do. So to still be able to see places and things that I enjoy is really a blessing. Thank you for all your hard work. Prayers Love and Peace
Dave also was a big supporter of the Humane Society which I worked for in Columbus, Ohio. Many people don't know that. His passion for adoption even extended to animals.
McDonald’s was my first job. It was a blast! I got to do the birthday parties with the kids and one time Ronald came. There were so many kids there you couldn’t move. It was a lot of fun.
I remember Mr. Dave when he was a patient in a hospital after his passing there was a hospital wing name after him in Broward County. Very humble man he was.
I knew he was adopted but had no idea he was abandoned and was in a boys school. It takes a lot of self-confidence, imo, to gamble on yourself with that kind of money. At least he and his wife retired, and they lived their best lives to the end. What a nice and humble man he seemed to be.
@@Roro-tp4bv Exactly. People dont realize that people who are rich and famous never get to go out and just relax without getting harassed constantly. I've seen a few famous people and I've always just kept walking. Plus, they're just people like everyone else lol
However the Wendy's is where I'm from is amazing at the burgers are always cooked through. As a matter of fact I think I'm going to go get dinner there tonight
My first job was at Wendy’s. Dave was still alive and running the show back then ( I’m old) lol used to be the best burgers ever. And their chicken sandwich was divine when it first came out.
I really like hearing their birthday and early years before fame occurred. He was smart and believed in himself. RIP Dave and thanks for all the yummy food. You live on ~!
His daughters old house in Tartan Fields was pretty impressive. I used to work county sewer and drove past it all the time checking stations. I love central Ohio. Been here since 95. You can see decency and kindness in his eyes. I loved his commericals.
He really was quite a man who made something out of himself. Thank you for sharing his story. YOU are really appreciated by your followers. Congrats on your second channel!!!!!
19 years since then already. I remember sales at Wendy's went up because people bought it in honor of Thomas when he died. Wendy, herself, was adopted by Thomas. The company Wendy's promotes adoption. Since Dave was adopted, he really believed in adoption.

He died then with my type of cancer. Mine spread to my liver also but they caught it in nick of time and I had massive surgery and treatment for life. He seemed like such a nice man. Rest In Peace Dave Thomas. Thank you Lamont! Didn’t know you have another channel now, I will look it up.
I always like Lamonts stories. I live in Columbus, Ohio and work in the funeral industry I did quite a few funerals in Union Cemetery and it's very beautiful. Great job Lamonts.
Awesome! This is great, Lamont! Also, I want KFC and Wendy's now lol. They should give you a cut of the profits for all the business you just sent to them because of this video! 😋
Truly an amazing man. Went from nothing and unwanted to a self made extremely wealthy man. Sometimes taking chances pays off and dreams come true if you have the personal drive...he's proof...and an all around nice, good guy! RIP
I remember when I got my first real job at a pet store back in 1979 my place to eat was Wendy's around the corner. I only had a 30 minute lunch and worked 10 and half hours a day getting off at 8pm. Those were very special times for me. I miss those days when I was a teenager, God bless you Lamont for another awesome video
Dave Thomas came to starr commonwealth in 1996 on founders day i was blessed to introduce him to a huge audience of orphans and misguided children and rode in a limo with him , salute to you Lamont for all of the wisdom and informative info on your channel
I got to meet Col. Sanders and Dave Thomas in 1969 in Adrian ,Michigan and again in Toledo,Ohio both promoting KFC and Wendy's. They were both People persons taking pictures and signing autographs talking to anybody and eating drinking. RIP Dave and the Col.
So happy you are back...you tell such fascinating stories! I have not heard the whole Dave Thomas story and especially the fact that he worked for KFC. That is mind blowing to me! Would love for you to do a story on S. Truett Cathy who started the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain. I think he passed in 2014. He is possibly buried in the Atlanta area. His story is pretty interesting.
I just watched your video about the SOB who raped 100 women in the morgue, and saw you mentioned this new channel and of course I immediately subscribed. I wish you the best with this new channel. Thanks for all you do

You are correct, Neuroendocrine tumor is cancer. A very rare, very aggressive, very deadly cancer. I know this because my husband recently passed from it. Six weeks from diagnosis to death. Rest In Peace Dave Thomas. No one deserves to go through that. (Enjoying your new channel BTW!)
They're building a new Wendy's close to my home! We have more in my town but this will be closer. Great video lamont! Wendy's was my wife's first job ever and she's still with them to this day ...almost 30 years later! That's either saying something about the company or the man himself! 👍👍👍👍
Lamont you're a good hard worker, I have never seen a picture of Dave Thomas and kernel sanders standing side by side, the two legends standing side by side is simply awesome 👍😎
My 2 best friends are brothers. They grew up beside Dave Thomas in South Akron Ohio and was good friends with Wendy. Their dad was best friends with Dave and his wife and Dave hired their dad to do all of the site locations and real estate purchaser for all his Wendy's. And also did all of the signage art work and produced all the signes in the beginning for wendys. Dave and their dad both served in the Army together as well..good video.
When I go to Wendy's I always order a single cheeseburger with mustard, pickles and onion only. I remember Dave saying that is how he ordered his burger and I must tell you ITS AMAZING. It really saddens me that they don't have even one photo of Dave in the new store remodels, what a shame. He did so much for orphan children, what an angel. There is an amazing interview somewhere on youtube where Dave talks about his relationship with Colonel Harland Sanders and KFC, its riveting!.
David Thomas was truly a fast food titan from the beginning. I never knew that McDonald's connection, I feel like I should have known that tad bit of information. Lamont you keep doing your thing. You are truly your own kind of titan. Thanks for all you do.😘

I've once heard that the reason what Wendy's burgers are square is because Dave didn't like to cut corners
Ha!
He also believed that customers liked when the patty hangs off the bun, and he was right.
No he didn’t like goin round in circles I believe
Nice story Lamont! He sure was a humble man who made a lot of himself. The American dream. Best wishes on your new channel.
Rest In Peace Dave
