Just some additional note on the FPV drones being used in Kursk. Unlike previous drones that operate via radio, these have fiber optic monofilament cables behind them to negate the extremely dense EW environment. This drone variant is dubbed "Prince Vandal of Novgorod". It's also carrying much larger warheads since they've recently increased the size of propellers and motors to increase thrust. You will know that they're on cable because they don't suffer from multipath interference which is typical of FPV drones that use 5.8 ghz analog video feed when flying close proximity to the ground.

    • @litesp
      @litesp 15 дней назад +8

Yes, snagging was a problem last year so they had to redesign the reel to be super loose by using a reverse cone. The drones themselves are deliberately tuned to be "less maneuverable" in the PID tuning so they arent as affected by drag by using higher I term. Pilots who are used to regular drones will notice them having super stiff "stick feel".

It is a pretty neat idea to fly the drones down low. Anyone looking for them will be looking up, and even the driver might not see it until it’s too late when it blends in with the grey/brown roads. Driver will only have like 20m to see it if lucky and with both flying towards each other head on that leaves no time to react. The only issue I see is this method only takes out the vehicle and not the combatants, which means you need observer drones to accompany these to be ready to call in artillery the second a vehicle is stopped.

    • @marcusarelius7065

    • @IGLArocknroll

These drones are wire-guided, therefore the operators are close by. That's a double-edged sword: the enemy infantry dismounting the now-wrecked armored vehicle and the column following it will be obviously pissed, and will be looking for the drone operators, and try to hunt them down, but since the ambush happens at a pre-determined location, the drone operator can immediately call down an artillery barrage from the nearest D-30 or mortary battery on the location.

@@radiozvrk6784 18km? I highly doubt it. Most of the sources mention that the cable is a fiber-optic one. As someone who works with fiber-optic cables on a day-to-day basis, the main drawback is their rigidity and therefore their flimsiness. The longer the cable, the higher the chances that something will happen to it, and if the cladding is damaged (which could easily happen if you try to turn the cable in the right angle - 90 degrees - for example), then you can say goodbye to the drone due to low signal strength.

the SU lost the cold war - by economical overstretching and then falling back loosing the system-alternative-status
despite the bloody losses & high value of military spendings into this war - and russia is spending real money while the west is mainly shifting inside their fiat-money dominance - the main war may be the economical one to stand&fasten up the decline of the US exploitation scheme - within the world-currency-advantage the usa "live" on an economical deficit which is as high as their military spendings
      - this means the US living standard is kept up by raising debts - exchanging inflated dollars against worthful gooods - and no one (except russia) could withstand the US 2 guns - military invasion or financial sanctioning (by controling the world currency & the fiat money that is pumped tthrough all regular economical actions)
russia is economical resilient but rather small against the US-fiat-money-trrade-power - i think Putin won´t go full-scale war-economics as this would buy the usa more years to suck the world - he won´t repeat the mistakes of the SU

I have always thought that the Russians with artillery, planes and having to fight on a slow front due to the presence of enemies, have less difficulty fighting in worse weather conditions. Also because the russians have always lived with difficult weather conditions and over decades the Russians have developed better performing machines than those born on snow and mud. During the next winter and autumn the Ukrainians will collapse with energy infrastructures destroyed, a large loss of vehicles in Kursk, difficulties in logistics given that the Russians will soon take strategically important cities for logistics as well as railway tracks. I see it as very bad also because the new Ukrainian soldiers are recruits with no experience, during the winter I don't think they will resist much especially now that the Russians are using the factories by the hundreds

    • @inisipisTV

Its pretty likely the Kursk advances are just to keep Russia on the defensive while fortifications continue to be built. It is going to take at least a year to clear Kursk, tragically for the civilians who left their homes. 😢
The low flying fpv could be to avoid the vehicles EW which is not going to be aimed at the ground. Its clear from the kursk footage that many fpv "hits" have been blocked by EW, as you can tell by when the video cuts. This is the biggest issue that tricks even those who arent knowingly spouting propaganda as the bots do - an fpv video does not equal an fpv destruction. People are counting every fpv vehicle as 1 vehicle gone. But they have EW which is blocking a huge amount as they get close and it can take several hits to take out a vehicle.
When the multiple hits end in success, we have often seen a compilation of four or five hits that ends in the vehicle burning. Now we see a compilation of single hits to many different vehicles, many of which cut too early and were likely blocked, given we dont see the view from a spotter drone.
I think Russia intend to get to the outskirts of Pokrovsk so that battle can continue during the muddy season and winter, before rolling up the east next summer. Accordingly we will likely see them strengthening their flanks and supply lines once they have breached the fortifications and got a toe hold. Id like to be surprised tho 🐈😺

I have seen daily tallies on Tass but don´t know how believable they are. Understandable the Russians say nothing on their own losses, but very much like to know if they are truthful on the Ukrainian losses. In my opinion, they are, but have nothing to support that, except maybe like somebody said the truth being the best propaganda.

A dacha (Belarusian, Ukrainian and Russian: дача, IPA: [ˈdatɕə] ⓘ) is a seasonal or year-round second home, often located in the exurbs of post-Soviet countries, including Russia.[1] A cottage (коттедж, kottedzh) or shack serving as a family's main or only home, or an outbuilding, is not considered a dacha,[1] although some dachas recently have been converted to year-round residences and vice versa.
