I’m not even halfway through with this video, but I had to comment that you are brilliant and this video is brilliant and I hope you win an award for it.
Ok I wasn’t expecting that you’d actually interview the minimalists and omg you killed it. I choked on my dinner when you said the baby woke up “and then I gave her an ice bath” 😂😂😂 you crack me up
1) this was so awesome that you partnered with them 2) I love how committed you are, waking up at 3:45am and doing the ice face dunk! 3) I love your videos, you keep me company while I clean. I feel like I can’t clean when I’m alone, I need someone to keep me company. That’s where you come in. Thank you, Ariel!!!!
My parents would actually move our family every 3-9 months when I was growing up (before packing parties and minimalism were popular), and I can attest to how well it works to minimize your stuff! After I moved out, I moved a lot, so kept very few things; however, I've been living in the same house for 5 years now and love the freedom of filling a house with things that bring me joy! For organizing and keeping down clutter, I prefer the container method. i.e. My bookcase is made to contain my books, so I keep what fits comfortably. This and the one in, one out method works great! And no need to wake up at 3:30 am!
My experience exactly, moved about 12x before 18 and then have moved about 5x since (I'm 63). I was always mildly jealous of kids that lived all their childhood in the same house and had all the silly moments that we like to accumulate, I am very sentimental and love old stuff. Now that I have been in the same large city apt with no storage I fantasize about having a moving party....but have no where to put all the boxes,😂😂
These last 2 videos w the interactive ish interviews w these well-known ppl are phenomenal!! Genius idea! And HILARIOUS!! I love how it's kind of scripted and so thought out that we see your personality come out and their humor towards your humor! You, your mom and your grandma dancing: PRICELESS!! I also loved getting to see your videos more often. I chose your video first this morning over my regularly scheduled first video bc I was so excited!! Love you! Love your channel! Can't wait to see me! Can't say enough positive things!
Oh my goodness, I was smiling from beginning to the end!! Thank you I needed that. As I was smiling, I looked around my family room and kitchen. which by the it looks like Goodwill threw up in it, I thought hard about it and said to myself, Martha you are not ready to get rid of your treasures! I think I better get on the move though. I'm 68
This is AMAZING! 😂😂 it’s interesting that the Minimalists are all men, though that doesn’t discount their experiences or expertise. It’s just that I’ve noticed the Minimal Mom and others are labelled mummy bloggers, but these guys aren’t known as parents even if they might be, as that’s not their focus. But what mums like me need is advice on what minimalism looks like with our responsibilities and the way we are the heart of our homes.
I giggled and laughed out loud so many times that my son was mocking me (in a good way). Thank you so much for your wit and humor and just "down-to-earthness" . I am inspired to do some more decluttering and more "living in the moment" with my beautiful family.
I ask my husband what he wants for dinner. I give him choices. If he doesn't like them, no dinner. I am cutting back on my coffee drinking. One or two cups daily. I take the dog for a walk. She's getting longer walks daily. Yesterday was about a quarter mile. Today will be closer to half a mile. We get rid of a lot of stuff weekly. My driveway barely fit our stuff. Now there is plenty of room for our vehicles. My husband has a trailer that was our camper at one time. He's going to dismantle and recycle it, then he'll build a shed for the lawn equipment and his tools which are making a mess of our back porch.
@@Emily-ld8sk I buy limited selection of foods that can be made into multiple meals...pasta, rice, beans, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, hamburger, chicken, olives, canned mushrooms, canned tuna, cheddar cheese, for example. I hate shopping, so I limit the menu. I used to make different meals every day. I never repeated a meal. Now we function on basic stuff and do well. I'm not always interested in cooking as I'm a student (medical billing and coding). If he doesn't like the choices I give, he makes dinner). I wanted to make chicken lentil soup, but he didn't want hot soup. And thank you. Since my husband got involved (he was impressed with the space in the house), we are getting so much more done. He also likes donating to the homeless. The shelter people run multiple shelters and can use whatever we want to donate, so we do.
I really enjoyed watching this video. I like how you've started interviewing people for your chancel and you've quickly become one of my favorite youtubers to watch. Thanks for all your content !
Ariel this is definitely 1 of your best videos. Please accept my gift and get yourself some ice cream as a sign of being hilariously talented. I love your mom and grandma and can see the apple didn’t fall far from the tree with your humor. Great interview with the minimalist guys!
What an awesome collab! Also, the kitchen party with your mom and grandma was priceless! P.S. I did NOT watch this video while eating a large bowl of ice cream. Wait... the Minimalists said it was OK? Alright, then, actually I did. 😂🍨
I'm 71 so I have to concentrate on Swedish Death Cleaning: What should I get rid of so my son won't have to rent a huge storage space to put stuff he can't get rid of (being a collector of old stuff). I have to wait until he is at work to put bags of stuff in my car, then drive 30 miles into town to drop it off at a thrift store. Hate living in the middle of nowhere, but enjoy spending time with him.
Yes! Yes! Yes! I love The Minimalists so much and this collab was unexpected and absolutely wonderful! I’m so glad they did this with you. Go, Ariel! I loved so many parts of this, but the packing party was the best.
Great and funny as always video. I thought your grandmother was your aunt. She looks fabulous. My Saturday is starting nice thanks to you, coffee, and your funny useful videos. Have a nice day.
I am not a minimalist but I am trying to declutter my house. Then we started the kitchen/ laundry room/ back bathroom renovation. I guess that I am now having a packing party because everything is in boxes. Who knew? I did tell my husband that before we unpack everything we are going to let stuff stay in the boxes for a while to see what we really need. Love your videos
I was a pretty extreme minimalist 40 years ago. The house was super easy to clean and it was a peaceful place to be. When I married, it was to a very messy packrat. I prevented a hoarding type situation but we did accumulate quite a bit. I'm now divorced and am struggling to go minimal, maybe not as extreme as in the past, but I have trouble letting go of stuff because of the usual. "I paid good money for that", "I may need it someday", etc. This type of video helps give me resolve to take reasonable steps toward decluttering.
Thank you for making me laugh every time I watch one of your videos! I’m so happy the Minimalists did this with you, it was sooo funny! And I love that you are a sister in Christ! God bless you and your sweet family! ❤️😊
I just finished their documentary and now am watching you. You’ve added questions that was great to hear them answer. And of course your hilarious and your sense of humor and practical way of assessing things for you are brilliant.
This was great! The Minimalists were my beginning to becoming a minimalist 7 years ago. I've read their books and was lucky enough to see them in my home town during one of their tours. Very exciting for them to come onto your channel!
Great video! I do think it's telling that most minimalists are rich. If you can't afford to replace something, it's hard to get rid of it. I bet it is much easier to be "minimal" when you know you have the means to buy that stuff again at the drop of a hat
From my experience, it’s actually easier being a minimalist when you’re poor because you get to live on a budget easier when you realize all the stuff that you don’t need. It helps you to save money and focus on the things you need.
I love the minimalist! Them and Marie kondo helped me hugely to cut down what I don’t need in my home and to really think about what is important to me
Oh and just another point that should have been my major one: this was flipping AWESOME and your humour and content is top notch! This is the best thing I’ve seen in ages and I’m on RUclips A LOT.
Your videos always make me happy and make me feel better about myself! The struggle is real, but you give it humor. You are so creative with your videos. I truly look forward to them! Love from Texas ❤
😂😂😂, such a fun video! I want to say that I added looking at a bright light every morning back in February and it has made a huge, huge improvement in my life. Since I live in the NE and we don't always have sun in the early morning (like for 7months of the year) I used a light therapy box and it worked great. Now I have a bright light at the kitchen sink and I do my dishes first thing while getting the light. It noticably set my circadian rhythm to feeling sleepy at a good hour of the night, and I sleep well, which has always been a struggle. I'd recommend to anyone to try it!
Very entertaining and informative video. I really like the 3 minimalist and their approach not only to things but to life. Nice words of wisdom. I think the party ladies were awesome.😊

Very cool video with the Minimalists. I will try to get out and sit facing the East, face ice bath etc. Then, with an empty box or two(definitely more than 2 boxes) will declutter a space-see how that goes. Then, try reading, practicing the piano and eating fine food. When darkness falls tonight, that will be a tell………no phone or TV. It’s a good challenge. I think the sleep will come quickly but could I get up at 3:30 ish to start the day anew! Thank you, Ariel, your wonderful and inspiring video keeps me happy ! Thanks and have another wonderful day in NY. 💕🇺🇸🙋♀️🌺💕

Super clever and hilarious video! ❤ I enjoy learning about all kinds of minimalism and de-cluttering.
