- In this clip I show you how to install a floating floor. In this case it is a laminate style type of flooring. I demo the existing flooring ( carpet ), prep the subfloor, install the padding and then the floor itself. I walk you through all the steps needed for you to do this yourself.

Whether this gets 40 views, or 40,000 views,Those 40 to 40k people who watch this are witnessing skill, work ethic, consistency, and quality. The size of the audience doesn’t mean a damn thing when the impact these videos make are colossal. Thumbs up from WV
Im just gonna keep making clips and comments like these make it all worthwhile. Thank you
@@horstcarpentry anytime man. Yes keep making clips, more often the better I say. haha
Believe me I'm trying to get them out faster. Thanks again
Looking forward to seeing the new videos
Thanks for watching. I will be back to RUclips
Your Channel has inspired me to start making clips of my own to post on here. I’m gonna try to start by next month if I can
I'm glad that I inspired you to start a channel and start filming videos. My only advice to you would be to not give up. It will take time to build your channel, so, don't let it discourage you. Good luck to you and send me a comment when you post your first video.
@@horstcarpentry thanks I certainly will
Hope all is well. Hoping to see a return sooner than later!
Thank you and all is well. I've just had some life changes that have kept me from coming back as soon as I had hoped. I am planning to return though and will see you as soon as I'm able.
Really outstanding work, couldn’t have done it better myself. Bravo.
Thanks a lot. Compliments are always accepted here on this channel 😂
Good to see you back !! Love your stuff
Thank you
Great work. Looks beautiful. Must have had a lot of pets in that place. Greetings from Florida!🐊🐊🐊
Yes they did...
Where have you been. I’ve been looking for new videos. Hope you get back to RUclips soon
Great video Mr. Horst
We miss u bad
I'm sorry, but, I will be back. I keep having some issues that prevent me from returning. These should resolve soon and I will have a lot more time. RUclips will then become my primary activity.
Are you still doing videos? You're a rock star! ;)
I'm planning to return to making videos ASAP. I've had some life changes last year and this year as well that have delayed my return. My plan right now is to return to posting videos in the upcoming spring. Thanks so much for the compliment and commenting on the video. I will be back...it's only a matter of when.
Nicely done as always! Looks like you will hit 10k subs this week, so congrats in advance! Happy to have been with you since the beginning!
Thank you...it's hard to believe
Is there a specific task that you would assign the homeowner to that you do not like doing yourself? Like demolition or something of that nature? Assuming of course the homeowner was capable.
I would say the demo portion would probably be the only part I would let the homeowner tackle at least on this project. It would save time and disposal costs and I would pass that along to the homeowner.
How much will it cost to have room 20’x20’ on top of the garage just estimate around how much?
Very hard to price without a number of details. Having said that, if it was a wide open room, I would guess 20k. Don't forget that you may need to upgrade the floor joists from the old ceiling, if it even had one (trusses) and you will need heating at minimum installed. I could go on and on, but, be aware there are a lot of things involved that will add costs to this type of project. Materials alone may be 6 - 8k. Of course the prices in my head are based on "normal" costs not current prices. Thanks for the comment
Are you coming back to RUclips??? You haven't made a video in a while!
I'm planning to return soon. I have had some health issues that I'm working through. I have a couple of things filmed that I need to edit that were from before my current episode. My intention is to film myself doing an addition on my own house. It will be large in scope and will involve modifications to the existing house along with some energy efficiency improvements. I should be ready soon and I appreciate your hanging with me.
@@horstcarpentry Awesome, sounds good! Hope you get to feeling better!
Thanks, I'm doing well, but, I'm just trying to get off this medication before getting into the next thing. I had high blood pressure, but, because of changes in diet, I'm holding steady even with reducing my dosage. I'm almost weaned off and then I'll be back ASAP. I can't wait to start this work. I've been thinking about this project for years. I need to make a video about what's been going on. Thanks for the comment
Wishing you a speedy recovery! We so appreciate the quality work you do and that you share it with your subscribers. Based on your video demonstrating the addition of balusters to a screened porch, I was able to knowledgeably interview three contractors and select the one offering a similar approach. The job turned out beautifully. Looking forward to your future videos!
Thank you very much. I appreciate you watching and commenting on my videos. I'm glad that clip helped you get a contractor that does high quality work. Back priming the end cuts will make those last a long time. I'm mostly working now on weaning off medication. They give you these pills, but, no one tells you how hard they are to get off. Hopefully this won't take too much longer
