Yes it’s Admiral Gorshkov. It was decommissioned and sold to India in 2004. It was upgraded and renamed INS Vikramaditya and comissioned into Indian Navy in 2013. ❤️🇮🇳

I am being critical here because we have to face reality.
The reality is India's defence is vulnerable From army,navy to airforce.
Ageing fleet of warplanes, outdated warplanes,outdated guns and equipments, lagging behind a lot in modern technology.
Lagging behind in aircraft carriers and other warships.
Too much inefficiency and red tape. Surely these are not awe inspiring or proud moment at all. We are hanging in by a thread. Simply because we do not have a proper selfless government in place to propel the country to success.
1 aircraft carrier(medium size) with 35 war planes and 10 helicopter carrying capabilities are not confidence inspiring.
2nd aircraft carrier(medium size) being built which was supposed to be in operation as of 2018 still under construction and is said to be operable in 2022 is a disaster.
Not even one single large size aircraft carrier in fleet.
Still in discussion stage said to be in operation by 2035 which means probably in 2040.
Do you think enemies will wait for you to be ready....???
People of this country need to sacrifice a lot to increase momentum many fold to even stay competitive forget being leader in a field.
Only a selfless and very wise government can pull of such a feat.

Yes you are saying true but our army personnels are no less. Even if we have less arm equipments our officers never look back while serving the country. They make the best use of whatever we have. I agree that more finance should be provided for weapons and other equipments
Totally agreed. But it has many aspects to itself. Firstly, people like you (I'm considering you're a socialist at heart) do not let the defense sector get industrialized. As soon as OFB were corporatizsed, leftists started wheezing like panting dogs. Unless private players do not overthrow the lethargic and inefficient state run organisations, our defense sector can never experience an uphill.
Secodnly, INS Vikrant is pretty much punctual. I would totally disagree with it's unpunctual arrival. Speaking critically is one thing and getting blinded in hatred against a side is another.
Thirdly, you talked about inefficient arms and ammunitions in Indian army. It was basically because of OFB which now has successfully been corporatized. We'll see indigenous weapons and ammunitions in India in no time now.
Lastly, with the democratic nature of Indian state, it's quite impossible for state PSU's dealing in defense sector to execute operations in time due to the volatile nature of power shifting at the centre. Whenever a new govt hits the centre, they make sure to halt the older operations and tilt them according to their will. Lack of private players hence autonomy to the manufacturers, makes it impossible for projects to end up in time.
