Great video! After upgrading my servos with metal gears (TRX2072X) one servo made a constant noise when it was at its endpoint. At first I was scared that the servo had a malfunction which would have been odd because it is only 1 week old. But after a lot of videos on "servo jitter/chatter" and "pontiometer problems" I came across your explanation for the noise and fixed it easily ;) By the way the wireless module with the app is awesome for all those adjustments!

Quick question about something I noticed. In Drive Effects for the Maxx it shows a Cruise Control option, why it that there? Should it be? Thanks for the video I’ve just got a Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL and done these calibrations.
Have had any problems with you truck. I'm going to install the 3rd servo and I just got the truck 4 days ago. 2 1/2 charges. I hope this doesn't keep up. Only running it on flat ground too. Crazy!
Can anyone tell me wot setting is worth adjusting on my TRX with the Bluetooth module ? Can’t seem to find any videos on RUclips it’s just all telling me how to pair it
Yeah. Crazy thing was my throttle was trimmed to 8% from the factory, which means my neutral was set to 8% instead of 0%. There's no way to see that without the Traxxas Link display.
Your servo horn isn't centred, this is why your end points were out. This is a problem as the servo has to move though a wider range on one side. If you watch closely, you actually steer faster in one direction than the other
exactly what I was looking for! question: would the odd steering endpoints your truck needed perhaps indicate a steering arm improperly indexed on your servo? you needed 110% left while right maxed at 88ish%, ~10% off more or less from center. idk nothing from nothing, straight rc noob, so apologies if I'm asking a dumb question. thanks again for a very clear, well put-together walkthru of the Tqi Link
the Maxx has a problem where the servo horn hits the chassis on one side, but normally if they're different you need to adjust the drag link (the turnbuckle that connects the horn to the steering rack)
To answer your question, yes. Redoing the servo horn to get proper index can fix this, there’s always going to be a position that is close to center, the video just shows a software workaround for it. Either way works!

You can't. Reverse and brakes are the same, you can't adjust one without the other. I have a video on how to "hack your brakes" which would probably work on the Maxx too, but you'll have to figure it out yourself.
need a help. when you change wheel type to get speed reading right on traxxas link app. you can only select from list of wheels on the app. i bought a badlands 3.8. what can i do to get speed correct
I know this is old, but unless you have the add on GPS module it’s going to be out to lunch anyway, my truck with all the correct settings says it goes 49mph in the grass with out of the box gearing, and no way in hell thats correct.
Can someone explain in detail how to set the trim with the tsm off? I have done this best I could and when I turn on the transmitter then vehicle and the tsm is turned back on the wheels start to move on their own to one side. With the front modular section apart do you have the truck centered and balanced on a block of wood floating with wheels off the air? Then turn on the transmitter with tsm off already or when you turn on transmitter? Then I see the servo centers and I place the horn on and tighten. Are you supposed to do anything from here? Because then I would turn off the ESC and attach the front module back on and attach the bell crank arm to horn. Secure all screws then fire it up again but when tsm is turned on wheels start to turn on their own. With tsm off of course it doesent do this. I would appreciate some insight on this because it's frustrating.
Try zero'ing everything out, take off the servo horn, turn on the radio/car and TSM on to center the servo with the car on a stand. Then stick on the horn with the car still on and sitting flat on a stand (if you can).
@@RazorRC ok after I place the horn back on while truck is still on then should I turn off the truck then receiver and assemble the front end module back on? Traxxas had stated to turn TSM off while setting servo trim. I will try this and if not I will contact Traxxas for tech support. I appreciate your help.
TSM assistance will not steer your car in the air if your steering the car. You would have to literally hit a jump and let go of the steering control for that to happen. Transmitter input overrides TSM. How you worded it may be confusing to some people. I hope this clarifies.
I disagree. TSM/AVC/gyros purpose is to override your steering input, including when you are turning. You can reduce how much it interferes with the TSM dial, but it interferes all the time -- going straight, turning, etc. If you're going around a corner and turning the steering wheel 50% and the truck starts oversteering, it will actually straighten the steering a little bit to correct.
@@RazorRC try it . when you steer with the transmitter your input is what the car does. The gyro does not override it. Don't take my word for it try it out for yourself

Do we need to turn the vehicle on b4 setup?

@@PhilBender612 I have. Trust me, I've tried every company's version of TSM. Traxxas, Spektrum, Team Associated, Radiolink, Flysky, and the Dumbo RC X6. I own all of them and have tested all of them.
Why would you be steering the car when it's in the air you turn the TSM off to keep it from staring in the air
I guess I got luck.... mine drives perfect
Hi! There's only one traxxas link? I mean is there a number code for certain rc like traxxas maxx? Or only one and fits every tqi tx?
Jerome Castillo it will work with any of the TQi’s of the last 5 years or so. Some of the older ones it won’t or the plain TQ radio won’t work.
@@RazorRC thank you! I ordered mine already. My maxx isn't properly calibrated.
My turning wheel is also my throttle can u help
Check that your ESC plug is plugged into channel 2. The Traxxas receiver has two channel 1 slots, so channel 2 is actually the 3rd slot and you should have an empty space in one of the first two slots.
Great Video! Do you know if the link will work with a Max6 Esc? Thanks
