    Thank you for posting the review. I have found that sitting in lotus position opposite the steam unit, I have more room and my whole body is inside along with essential oils to enhance the steam experience. A yoga pillow may be a great option for position of comfort. Lymphatic system is HAPPY too! My sessions are usually 30 mins and 3x a week. A real treat for my at-home personal wellness program!

    We must warn of the deadly danger we may face even with a portable sauna..I got burned 2 days ago with the explosion of the boiler, few second before, my husband was with his face very close to it, to find out what was that funny sound, and it could have exploded on his face, with the water on the electrical cord...that kind of chair, breaks up easily, and I fell on the floor when it did, I could have got hurt with those metal bars going through my body...one of the zips, broke up after few days....Please, when using it, make sure if you hear some strange sound, unplug immediately the boiler..do not get close to it, put a towel on top of it and wait until it is cold..plastic changes resistance with the passing time, so be aware of what may happen and prevent dangerous or even deadly accidents...

    I got the same one, I never really thought that there is a portable sauna out there, but recently, I feel like I needed something so I just started googling and ''bam'' I found this crazy looking sauna tent - so I just got my 1st try today and I sweat like I have never done before; I don't normally sweat I thought my sweat gland has some issues lol. It takes me to run in a sauna type jacket to get me to sweat whenever I jog and it the warm weather, but recently it's way too cold. However, I felt like I needed to sweat to boost my energies. I plan to use it every morning before I start my day and see what happen. I have a beach chair in it or you can buy small stool or chair to sit in it.

    For a chair that is completely steam resistant and free....upside down milk crate with a board on top with closed cell foam for a cushion. Done! To adjust the height, cut the milk crate down. For more height add another. Milk crates are awesome. So resilient to the elements.
    As for losing weight, no....steam doesn't do that. Sure you lose water but you don't seek dehydration, do you? The water will be soon replaced afterwards and your weight will be exactly the same because your heart doesn't beat fast in a steam session, or it sure shouldn't. You never want to exercise hard in high levels of heat. Losing water and replacing it feels good as a lot of toxins are retained in our body's water and we excrete them through perspiration. That's the benefit of steam. Plus it just feels great.

    I watched a Ted Talks where the speaker recommended a certain temperature of sauna in order to fight chronic depression and anxiety. Can you know the temperature that the steam sauna gets to? And I read that infrared is somehow better at getting the core body temperature high (which is key for the antidepressant effects). I'm trying to understand why the infrared would get a higher core temp when you said that this was hotter...( if you have any insight there). Thanks

    • @hyperhippyhippohopper
      @hyperhippyhippohopper 8 месяцев назад

      The steam sauna can get up to 60-85 degrees Celsius or 140-185 Fahrenheit) depending on how well the inside is insulated and the wattage of the steam unit. Any type of sauna can deliver the benefits associated with elevated core body temperature, it doesn't matter what the peak temperature of the sauna is, or how the heat is delivered (water vapor/infrared electromagnetic rays) as long as you stay inside until your core body temperature gets elevated high enough for those beneficial processes to start working. The hotter the sauna, the shorter the time needed to get your body temperature to that point, and so the shorter you need to stay inside. The infrared sauna is hotter in the sense that the source of the heat (electric grill) reaches a higher temperature (multiple hundreds of degrees) whereas the steam produced in a steam room is well under the boiling point of water. The thing is that a steam sauna doesn't need to reach such high temperatures because the thermal conductivity of water is very high. Even at relatively low temperatures, the heat of the steam is transferred to your skin (and subsequently the rest of your body) very quickly and efficiently. The infrared sauna is great if you would like to concentrate the heat on a particular body part like one that needs extra heat, like an injured limb or whatever to help recovery. The closer you are to the grill, the more heat exposure. Other than that, it doesn't provide any added benefits. People using infrared saunas should also be careful not to get too close to the grill with their eyes because they can get damaged by over-exposure.

    I don't know... Part of the charm of a traditional sauna is when two large men walk in, sit next to you, and everyone just stares facing forward in awkward silence - until one of the men get up to pour water on the rocks, and in doing so - they let out the biggest, purulent fart you've ever experienced. Then they turn around, say nothing, sit, and forget to put the towel around them - so their private parts are showing. Meanwhile, the smell gets so bad - but you don't want to appear rude by getting up... so you spend about 5 minutes breathing in steamed fart, holding your gag reflex, when the OTHER guy just starts coughing, gets up, mutters something in Finnish and leaves.
    Then you have to go back and take another shower, since your whole body now smells of cuttlefish and corn salad.
    Hopefully the mabufacturers add this small detail in the next model upgrade...

      You might want to try aquatic exercises. They offer no stress on your joints and can be very exhausting. Nothing beats aquatic exercises for low stress cardio. The problem is its hard to find a pool open with COVID numbers being high most everywhere. Solution: A lake!
